Try to run it on 1024*768 resolution. Windowed mode.

 

Aboute the virtual memory , dunno with this is causing your errors, but anyway, windos SO ALWAYS use virtual memory, doesn't how many ram u have. For that, u can crate a new partition on your HD, and use it for swap. the performance in ur system will get a lil faster.
