Phoenix4 Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 Hi all! As I promised that I would made a guide about Windows7 so.. here it is! Let’s begin ________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Windows 7 Features On windows7 we can do many things that we could not do on the other editions example. Well I can’t explain all of them right now I will tell you the basic ones. We can stick a program we want on taskbar by right clicking on it -> Pin to Taskbar. Or -> Pin to Start Menu . You can Unpin them just by right clicking again. We can grab it and put it everywhere we want on the Taskbar. See the pictures below to understand that i mean http://i30.tinypic.com/2gxpmr7.png[/img] Desktop Button On Win7 if you look down/right you will see a small button .If you press it It will show you your desktop – minimizing all the windows. Really useful if you have a lot of windows on. http://i25.tinypic.com/11b3zp2.png[/img] New Options As we can see if we press right-click on the desktop we will have not just properties but more features http://i32.tinypic.com/egcyzr.png[/img] Gadgets Using gadgets on 7 is much better because you don’t have a stupid bar on the right or left of your desktop like on Vista. http://i29.tinypic.com/defth.png[/img] Customize Ok now we have learnt some of win7 abilities but that about customizing? Let’s see an example. http://i26.tinypic.com/2lp4yu.png[/img] Right click on My Computer and select Properties , now you will get this window -> choose Advanced system settings. You have your options now...example you want to decrease the visual effects? So you can use less Ram.Go to advanced settings,Performance , Settings and choose. Customize Start Menu It’s pretty simple and useful i am sure that most of you would want to customize it to remove useless options. Anyway let’s see http://i29.tinypic.com/2cdew77.png[/img] http://i31.tinypic.com/27wt6q8.png[/img] Services You can start/close services like Windows Defender or Firewall from Services. But we must activate them from the previous tip. http://i28.tinypic.com/8zigcl.png[/img] UAC I am 100% sure that a lot of guys have/had problem with UAC. It is easy to edit it look the picture. http://i31.tinypic.com/2hdshas.png[/img] http://i29.tinypic.com/1ioefb.png[/img] Wireless Internet You can easily find the avaible wireless connections in your area and connect to them (if they don't have security) just by clicking on the icon. http://i30.tinypic.com/4i2w1.png[/img] Power Options If you are a Laptop user 100% all the laptops from the shop haven’t power plan 100%. I mean you can edit your laptop’s settings to use 100% power (CPU) or Screen brightness and more. If you buy it from a shop and you don’t edit it it will be balanced. CPU minimum 50% CPU maximum 50% . This is made for economy to the battery but if you don’t want it and you want Performance check this now. http://i25.tinypic.com/25qqa6w.png[/img] http://i30.tinypic.com/2z6waqo.png[/img] Startup The majority of users have programs on startup which aren’t on use and they “eat” seeds from the pc(I mean ram,cpu etc.). They are useless and we must deactivate them. It’s not a big deal. Start Menu -> Run (you must activate it by editing the start menu I told before how) On Run type msnconfig and enter Now select the tab Startup and here we are. You better get rid of useless programs which start on the startup you lose performance. http://i28.tinypic.com/t6xb12.png[/img] http://i32.tinypic.com/lbkt1.png[/img] DirectX 11 Well because some people don't believe that DirectX 11 is going to be on Windows 7 i will prove it and i will show you how to do it. http://i28.tinypic.com/ndq5xw.png[/img] Paint On win7 paint has changed also it has more abilities as we can so on the photo below http://i27.tinypic.com/2zdyxe0.png[/img] Compatibility issues Well if you have any problem , any program that doesn’t work on 7 here it’s a solution. Right click on .exe (example if we have l2 right click on l2.exe) and select properties Now select compatibility , run this program ….. and choose in which windows would you like this program to work like. http://i28.tinypic.com/21o5us8.png[/img] Keep the computer to it’s peak. Even if we have the best computer (software/hardware) we must keep him CLEAN.But how…? I will suggest 2 programs -Windows 7 Manager -O&O Defrag O&O defrag keeps the files of the hard disk organized because every time we use them they lose their “position” O&O Defrag keeps them “near” It is really useful program in that way you won’t need format for a long time. Windows 7 Manager it’s the Ultimate program for Windows 7 it has everything you can do everything with it , (example? Turn off the program on internet cafes) it has so many features I can tell them all it will take pages :p so let’s make it faster (WARNING: Win7 manager works ONLY in windows 7 … vista has it’s own manager like xp too) http://i31.tinypic.com/qxwg88.png[/img] Windows 7 System Requirements That’s it guide it over. I hope that this guide will help people ;) Credits: ME (Phoenix) LEECHING IS NOT ALLOWED if I see it on another forum …. -.-
