This thread is about Overclocking

Show your computer spec by using cpu-z or other programs so we take a look at your good spec

only computers! No Laptops!

For CPU-Z Download: http://www.cpuid.com/download/cpuz_150.zip

And use GPU-Z so we can check out your graphic card!

You almost can't destroy the ram but thats for every system rare

I'm having an overclock from 2.9GHz to 3.1GHz I can go lots futher I've reached 3.3GHz and my cpu temperture was just 20c with my cooler

Little guide for overclocking your CPU:

The calulate:

Ok lets say your having an multiplier of 14 and as default your FSB speed is 200MHz

that will be 14 x 200 = 2800MHz (2.8GHz)

Lets say I want to overclock the 2.8GHz to 3.0GHz

You must calculate again and not just filling in something at the FSB speed

So the calculate will be 14 x 215 = 3010MHz (3.0GHz)

I don't know what your multiplier is but we will say for now your having the multiplier for your CPU at 14

3.1GHz: 14 x 222 = 3108MHz

3.2GHz: 14 x 229 = 3206MHz

3.3GHz: 14 x 236 = 3304MHz

...

You should know how to calculate it for your self, And remember that if you increase the FSB (Front Side Bus) your also increasing the speed of your RAM

Overclocking is never safe, It depends on every system what will crash, But hey every computer will crash some day even without being started with overclocking

But seriuosly .... I can't tell how long the system will run with overclocked settings but what I know is that if your system is cool enough just under de 60celius everything is fine and will not crash for years or you must be a real overclocking freak and getting 2 more GHz out of your cpu :D
