Discussion Installing Lineage II on macOS via CrossOver

This document provides a structured and reproducible methodology for installing and running Lineage II on macOS using Lineage II through CrossOver.

 

The purpose of this guideline is to present a clear, technically sound procedure that allows macOS users to execute a Windows-native Lineage 2.

 

1. System Requirements

2.1 Hardware

• Mac with Intel or Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3)

• Minimum 8 GB RAM (16 GB recommended)

 

2. Methodology

2.1 Installation of CrossOver

1. Download CrossOver from the official CodeWeavers website.

2. Install it via standard macOS installation procedure.

3. Launch CrossOver and ensure it is updated to the latest build

2.2 Bottle Configuration

In CrossOver terminology, a Bottle represents an isolated Windows environment.

1. Click “Create a New Bottle.”

2. Select:

   • Windows 10 (recommended)

3. Name the bottle: Lineage2

4. Wait for initialization to complete.

Recommended Bottle Settings:

• Enable DXVK

• Enable High-Resolution Mode

• Install additional components if needed (you will be prompted):

  • DirectX

  • Visual C++ Redistributables (2015–2022)

2.3 Installing Lineage II Client

1. Download the client: link

2. In CrossOver:

   • Open the Lineage2 bottle.

   • Click Install Application → Select Installer.

   • Choose the downloaded setup.exe.

3. Follow standard Windows installation procedure.

 

In the end you will be able to utilize lineage 2 on MacOS
