Hello MaxCheaters,

I’m trying to add a custom PNG image to an NPC.
I exported the image from Photoshop as .tga, then imported it into UnrealEd, and saved it as a .utx file.

However, when I add the texture to the NPC and click the NPC in-game, the client gives this error:

“Files are corrupted.”

I checked the packages with UTPT, and I noticed:

  • Original Lineage 2 Interlude UTX files → version 123

  • The UTX that UnrealEd creates → version 126

Because of this version mismatch, the client refuses to load the texture and shows the corrupted files error.

It looks like UnrealEd cannot generate a valid Interlude-compatible UTX file.

Does anyone know how to properly create a UTX with version 123 (Interlude format), or how to convert 126 → 123?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Use encdec to encrypt files after you save them. You can do so by drag&dropping the file on top of the encdec .exe (the one from this share)

Thank you for the tool you shared.
The UnrealEd included in it saves the .utx file with version 123, but the Game field shows “Clive Barker's Undying”.
I think I get the “Files are corrupted” error because the package is not recognized as Lineage2 by the client.

Also, the encdec tool included in the package does not open the version 123 .utx file after saving it.

You must be doing something wrong at some point. Also, regardless of the 'version', it should work fine as long as you pass it thorugh encedc.

Alternatively, simply rename the .utx file to .u instead, and put it inside your System folder, and it'll work fine, regardless of encryption.

edit: keep in mind that l2editor can open most of L2's files with standard l2 encryption, but it does not *save* them with encryption;  which is why you need encdec
