Hit even when target is flying (high Z diff)

Hello, just a quick question. I noticed while i ride Wyvern in all L2J revisions, monsters can hit you even if you're flying at the top. 

In official how this work? Above X difference of Z hit cannot be done? Or can someone enlight me?
