Στο τελευταίο της διαφημιστικό που ανέβηκε στο επίσημο κανάλι της στο YouTube, η Google αναλαμβάνει να μας πείσει για τα πλεονεκτήματα ενός Chromebook σε σχέση με ένα Windows 10 laptop.

Ο Bill Nye, επιστήμονας που έγινε γνωστός κυρίως από την τηλεοπτική εκπομπή «The Science guy», αναλύει όλα αυτά που ξεχωρίζουν το Chrome OS από τον ανταγωνισμό όπως το πολύ γρήγορο άνοιγμα του υπολογιστή σε μόλις 6 δευτερόλεπτα αλλά και το ότι όλες οι ενημερώσεις εγκαθίστανται αυτόματα χωρίς ο χρήστης να καταλαβαίνει οτιδήποτε. Αν και κατά τη διάρκεια του διαφημιστικού, δεν υπάρχει άμεση αναφορά στα Windows, είναι ξεκάθαρο ότι η Google προχωρά στη συγκεκριμένη σύγκριση, παρουσιάζοντας το λειτουργικό σύστημα της Microsoft ως αργό και παρωχημένο.

Αυτό γίνεται ξεκάθαρο προς το τέλος του βίντεο όπου ένα αυτοκίνητο σε άσχημη κατάσταση, φέρει πινακίδα που αναγράφει τη λέξη WNDWS, με τον Nye να αναφέρει ότι «περάσαμε πολλά μαζί», λίγο πριν την οριστική κατάρρευση του αυτοκινήτου. Από την αρχή του διαφημιστικού, η Google προσπαθεί να πείσει τον καταναλωτή ότι η απόφαση για μετάβαση στο Chrome OS είναι ψυχολογική αφού όλα τα Chromebook μπορούν να λειτουργήσουν και χωρίς σύνδεση στο Internet ενώ τα δεδομένα του χρήστη είναι ασφαλισμένα όλη την ώρα αφού αυτά ανεβαίνουν αυτόματα στο cloud της εταιρείας. 

Μέχρι σήμερα, τα Chromebook δεν έχουν συναντήσει σημαντική επιτυχία εκτός των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών όπου και κατέχουν σημαντικό μερίδιο ειδικά για όσους ψάχνουν φορητό υπολογιστή για βοήθεια με τα μαθήματά τους.
