Problem With L2Font-E.utx

I'm trying to do this method here: http://www.maxcheaters.com/topic/118189-guide-how-to-edit-loading-screen-step-by-step/?hl=%2Bimport+%2Bl2font as it seems you can't simply edit the .tga files and ask to reencode them.

 

However, when I try to open the texture in unreal editor (already clean), it crashes:

I'm trying to modify the file from freya (not sure if it matters)

 

Any ideas about what am I doing wrong?

 

edit: same error using the gracia final l2font file. Its clean AND passed by l2tool.exe

That method can be used only at interlude. The upper chronicles gots protection on utxs files and cant be edited.

I know how to do it for Interlude +++ chronicles, and you need to remake .utx files as original ones cant be edited.

How could I remake the .utx file then? Could you point me to a guide? I managed to extract every texture file there is.

You can use the unrealeditor with those files.

The image in the loading screen is much brighter in game than it is in the image editor.

yes the games brightness is not ur actual desktops one. its always brighter by standart. so be aware of this ;)

Thank, I will darken the image then, any idea about how much brighter, in %, the game is? I took a printscreen of the game to show, but the shot has perfect brightness... lol

 

Btw, I removed every game tip/advice, but I cant find where the "Useful Information" title is stored. Any ideas?

As I said, I could remove every tip, but not the "Useful Information" title

there should be two dat files for systemmessages....something like system/sysmsg-e.dat. i forgot the name of the other file, but its named nearly the same. u can find it in one of them. open them and search for useful information. replace useful information with " " (Space). ^^
