Dont focuz on enemies lane phase..ofc they are bad on that elo.. The best support masteries are the one that Noble mention. Also support need gold runes...

i agree with all off u that they need gp10 runes its conventonal way but u can go for other runes too for more combinations  thats all.its not like ahhhh he noob he dont have gp10 some adcs go 21-9-0 some go 21-0-9 ....

On leona you can get health instead of GP10 and just farm enemies

On Janna you can get full GP 10 not just quins and play passive (make more gold)

 

and there are tons of examples like this

 

 

runes arent specific just more ppl using gp10
