Pauler Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 http://youtu.be/ETOusRTG4NA Hello there, I started working the other day on a voxel engine, which looks like a minecraft clone right now. I coded in Java using a java port of opengl. You cannot do many things right now, but I am still working on it. Let me know your opinion. Paul.
Boorinio Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 Plain awesome :) continue the good work, but as i told you when you started if i was to create something like that i would choose c++ :) smooches :P
Voqus Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Cool mate, try using lwjgl, will explain more later gotta run to uni.
Pauler Posted April 15, 2013 Author Posted April 15, 2013 Voxel Engine v0.2 Now, you can destroy and place blocks.
Voqus Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Ain't bad. If i were you though i would set up a Timer class and some range between player and TNT object in order to avoid bugs such as falling to black zone after some point underneath the map. Also, i would implement damage of TNT to player if he's within the range more realistic and effective way to avoid that bug. If you didn't get what i mean, tell me to explain further. KIU mate ;)
DJxPauL® Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Well done mate. Would you like to tell me an advice about how can I start learning Java using this port of opengl? Some tutorials from where I can start, please. Thanks.
