External Connection Problems?

Question

Posted

Hi, so I managed to get my server all set up and running locally (local IP) without any problems. I can connect/get in game etc.

Now, I was hoping to set up a "connection" with Hamachi, so that myself and another person can run around in the server.

I've set all the IP's I can find to my Hamachi IP, and I can connect fine this way, but the other person (In my Hamachi Network and with the l2.ini set with Hamachi IP) cannot, they reach the login screen and it just keeps "loading" when they try login. I also get no connection message from them in the login server, which leads me to think they aren't connecting to login server Address at all.

I'm using the Feb 1st Nightly which is H5 (we're both using clean H5 clients as well) and the config files are a little different to the guides here, and the L2JWiki. I also have an IPConfig file (that is mentioned in both the login / game configs which I assume needs to be changed as well)

If anyone has any knowledge of setting up with Hamachi I would be thankful for any help you can give.(I can't use my WAN IP as my ISP block connections, even if I port forward, so this is not an option)

If you need more info, or me to post the config files for you to see, just say and I'll do that. Thanks :)

Okay, so sorry for this double post. I just wanted it to be clearly seen to anyone else having this sort of problem with Hamachi.

I don't think it's possible to set up a server to work with Hamachi (at least not for anyone trying to connect externally) So your best bet would be to use No-IP as a few people here have said.

Place the No-IP address you make in the same places as you would your Hamachi IP (follow the guides, they say exactly where to put your address/IP)

And then you should be able to connect locally and Externally without any problems.

Hope this helps clear a few things up if anyone is having problems like I came across.

Also this guide is what I used to work out No-IP (it's in Greek, but with Screens so you can understand easily enough)

    • You should check if that condition is supported by your current sources. You can find this in  DocumentBase#parsePlayerCondition If it isnt there and you want to follow the same pattern of the other item conditions, create a custom condition to parse the classId (or multiple class ids) (there are examples to copy the code). Alternatively, you can create your own condition handler. Your condition should look like this: <cond msgId="1518"> <player classId="ADVENTURER,PALADIN" /> </cond> or <cond msgId="1518"> <player classId="93,5" /> </cond>
    • it's Interlude client forgot to mention
    • idk if acis have this option, but you can put inside item smth like that atleast on H5         <cond msgId="1518">             <player class_id_restriction="93, 101, 108, 117" /> <!-- Dagger Masters -->         </cond>
