One advice.Use more often the burn/dodge tool....

Moreover if I were you I would apply the image and I would put a maximum effectat 2 pixels and then I would put fade maximum at multiply 20 or 25%.

Ah.And smt more just add the rules of third to find a nice text placement

And quit naming your topics with the title.Name your tags

Yes I can tell it I like it.. But why you dont decrease the opacity of gradient and you leave it 100%? Also, try to change your text style it remains the same text as your all outcomes.

I would prefer something better as backround like grunge styles or what ever it makes you that you design something not a red backround.. About your effects ok are cool but not something special.

In overall, half good and half mid job.. Keep practicing.

Nice start! but work on depth(shadows) and also try mixing some colors and not let the gradient be on 100% maybe do an overlay instead and put it on around 20/50% it will give a total different look!

 

and for the text just leave it out sometimes i think it's better to have no text at all with this one.
