Well there are plenty of mid servers because lots of people want a server where they don't have to farm 24/7 just to become third class..! They want to farm less and pvp more (high rates are just sh!ty imo) so a mid server is ideal for them.  Of course, like you said, those servers fail (99% of the times) because they either are copy-paste servers with same crappy files made for quick ca$h or have clueless/corrupted staff or are unbalanced (34854 buff slots, buggy skills, custom items, "special-balanced" pvp system etc). Today its like totally impossible to find a decent mid server to have some fun!!!
