I'd love to have some guide for a Dominator, actually about the setup. A friend of mine asked me to make a topic, he's currently playin on a H5 server, and doesn't have account in here, anyways. He wants it mostly for Olympiad. He's thinking to play with the fighter skills it has (plus the debuffs of course) and without the drain, since that skill does sucky damage and consumes too much MP. He wants to know, what armor should he use, dyes and of course which raids jewels. I told him that he should use Elegia Heavy with the hammer, and about dyes to just add WIT. I'd really appreciate it if I had some cool suggestions from experienced people of this class.

Thanks in advance.

Set: OE vesper robe set (noble) [if it can be OE and foundation also it is a +]

Weapons: - due to lower cost i recomend as main wep  OE vesper caster or rising star instead of sacredium ( some people also use OE vesper singer, black visage or cyclic cane)

                - the best dagger you can get with pvp on it

                - homu conversion to buf at the start of the match

                - metal shield knife

Jewls: - aq/baium/zaken/anthy/b.freya (or equivalent from oly manager) when fighting vs fighters ( b.freya should be removed vs tanks if the reflect causes fi/sos to get to level 3 faster)

        - OE vesper/elegia/moirai,etc that have high m.def +anthy+b.freya vs robes.

Talismans: at least max clarity, life force, divine protection and speed talisman.

Some augments and other talismans like reflect damage can help you vs some classes (more to be discussed here). If you have problems with some classes that you can kill feel free to post here or send a private message and maybe i can give you some tips.

PS: i rarely play on domi.  ;D

Uhm, the server that guy is playing on the maximum enchant is +10 and the beas/bews 100% as he told me, so the overenchant is not a problem in general basis. About weapon, I told him that he should try the S84 top hammer, which adds health, that would be really nice in order to make nice damage with the skills. About the homuclus thing, thanks haha, he had totally forgot about the SA.

About jewels, shouldn't he use Frintezza or a Valakas ? Blessed Freya neck seems really weak in my opinion.

Also, what dyes do you suggest for Olympiad?

Thanks a lot for replying, I appreciate it.

If he can OE items up to +10 that means he will have over 10k HP in oly so it is no use for blunt with HP ( better go for acumen instead or high m.attack wep and you will deal some damage with the drain he has ). Onslaught of pa'agrio does the damage you need in close range. I suggest you kite instead of facing your oponent. ( you will find a rythm- smth like : seals-onslaught-run-drain-run-onslaught or other combinations depending on your oponent's class )

Tezza is for mostly used for stun chance and has low m.def and lower resists than b.freya. Valakas is ok but depending on the server you play you can end up geting only some m.attack bonus (wild magic effect is not noticeable on l2j h5 servers - at least the ones i`ve tested) wich compared to b.freya resists won`t be that helpful... anyway you can use b.freya and valakas both depending on the oponent.

Regarding dyes i would go for wit+4/men-4 , wit+1/men-1 , con+4/str-4. ( tho if you think some extra speed will help you... you can go for wit+4/dex+4/con+4)

Yea all his current items are +10 as I see right now, but I really doubt he'll have 10k HP inside oly, he has like 13 or so outside with full buffs :D

About kitting, his drain skill consumes like 250 MP per use, that's way too much that's why I made him prefer f2fing his enemy. (Or even to make the debuff land and then kite).

About the dyes, yea those are the ones he has now, but I thought it would be cool to have some extra STR from somewhere, because of Onslaught skill.

About Valakas and Blessed Freya now, in which classes would you wear Valakas, and in which classes would you wear Blessed Freya? By the way I mentioned Valakas in my previous post because of the reuse, not because of the m.atk it gives or the wild magic effect.

With max clarity you can drain as much as you want for those 2 minutes and with enlightment up also.

About B.freya and Valakas, both have reuse bonus. If you get killed by your oponent because he lands some debuffs on you (like fear for example) i suggest you use b.freya.

Onslaught of Pa'agrio lvl.1

Attacks near the enemy with 4312 Power added to P. Atk., causes burns for 15 seconds, and makes him consume 92 HP every second. Requires a blunt weapon. Over-hit is possible. (when kiting you count on that not on the damage you do when actualy cast the skill.)

    • First, don't really follow the "main voice", moreover if you consider it an hobby. Simply do what you want, you got only one life so use it as you want. If you make it an hobby, it's exactly like piano, or velo - only practice makes you better.   Secondly, how do you learn things ? It's actually a really important question, since some can simply be scholar, read books (theory) then practice ; and some simply can't read books. I'm the second type, I hated school, I find it boring - my knowledge in Java comes from try-and-fail. You improve your coding style every year or so, I can myself rewrite my own code (which I already considered top-notched) after a while. You always learn something new - even if Java barely evolves. L2J is a fun way to learn programming, it's a giant sandbox where you can edit anything, and I believe it should be taken as it.   My own way of learning was as follow : Add existing customs, no matter what they are : the point is to know main classes used by L2J / customs. L2J is barely Java knowledge ; the true knowledge is to know WHAT to search in WHICH location (what I call, organization). You have to understand than EVERYTHING you think already exists, in a form on another, in the source code. A custom is only the association of the different mechanisms you found "here and there", glued together in a proper goal. Once you know main classes to edit, and the customs you added are compiling fine, the main point is to know WHAT exactly you DID. Try to understand WHY and WHERE you actually copied the code. Third point would be to MANIPULATE the customs you added in order to fit your wish. First edit little values, then logic conditions ; eventually add a new Config, or a new functionality to the custom. Fourth point would be to begin to craft your own ideas. Once again, EVERYTHING already exists, in a form or another. You want a cycled event ? You got Seven Signs main task as exemple. Npc ? Search any type of Npc and figure out what it does. Fifth point would be to understand Java - mostly containers (WHAT and WHERE to use them), variables types and main Java mechanisms (inheritance, static modifier, etc). You should also begin to cut your code into maintainable classes or methods. Java can actually run without optimization, but bigger your ideas, more optimized and well-thought it should be. It's direct saved time in the future, and you would thank yourself doing so. Main tips : ALWAYS use any type of versioning system - GIT or SVN. It allows to save your work, step by step and eventually revert back anytime you want if you terribly messed up. L2J is 80% organization knowledge, and 20% Java knowledge. Basically, if you know WHAT and WHERE to search, if you aren't dumb, it's easy to replicate and re-use things. Cherry on top is to use a already good coded pack to avoid copy-paste crap and get bad habits. Avoid any type of russian or brazilian packs, for exemple - their best ability is to leak someone's else code. Obviously you need some default sense of logic, but Java and programming in general help you to improve it.   Finally, most of your questions could be solved joining related Discord (at least for aCis, I can't speak for others) - from the moment your question was correctly asked (and you seemed to search for the answer). My community (and myself) welcomes newbies, but got some issues with noobies.   The simpliest is to try, fail and repeat until you succeed - it sounds stupid, but that's basically how life works.   PS : about Java ressources, before ChatGPT, it was mostly about stackoverflow website, and site like Baeldung's one. With ChatGPT and alike, you generally double-cross AI output to avoid fucked up answers. Also, care about AI, they are often hallucinating really hard, even today. They can give you complete wrong answer, you tell them they are wrong, and they say "indeed, I suck, sorry - here's a new fucked up answer". You shouldn't 100% rely over AI answer, even if that can give sometimes legit answers, full code or just skeletons of ideas.   PPS : I don't think there are reliable ressources regarding L2J itself, also most of the proposed code decays pretty fast if the source code is actually maintained (at least for aCis). Still, old coded customs for old aCis sources are actually a good beginner challenge to apply on latest source.
