I has borrow 50 euro from Finito and 50 from Crystalin.

So i have 100 euros and i buy a t-shirt wich costs 97 euros.

I have 3uros left now.

I  give 1 euro to finito and 1 to crystalin so 1 reamins to me.

SO i owe them 49euro each.

That means 49+ 49= 98+ 1 euro from me = 99 euro

WHere is the that euro?

since when 97/2 makes 48? and not 48.5$? +1 $ to each makes 49.5$ debt for each one (x2=99)

that one euro is the one in your hand.

You have to deduct the remaining euro, not add it, because that 1 euro decreases your debt (which was 98) by 1 to 97, which is the am0unt of euros you gave for the shirt.

So 97 euros that went to the shirt+the euro you have+the 2 euros you returned = 100 euros

97+1+2=100.... genius, how you managed to find that out? you deserve a prize

You didn't even read what I said above?

At first, he got 100 euros.

97 went to the shirt

2 went back to their owners

1 euro is in his hand

Thus there is no lost euro

What he did was just an addition (49+49+1) that makes no sense. 49+49 is his debt, while the 1 euro is the money he has left. Why does he add the money he has left in the debt? It's just a wrong operation.

y u give them 1 euro first

you have 3 euro left from 100

y u give them 1$

since you owe 50 so you gave them 1

50 -1 = 49

49x2 = 98

We all know there's a solution for this but the funny thing  was there's 1 missing euro if you calculate like this..

Got it?

It's like saying:

Someone lends me 100 euros.

I give 1 euro to buy a chocolate (old times anyway)

I have 99 euros left.

I give back to the owner 1 euro, so I owe 99 more euros and have 98 euros in my hand.

99 euros i owe+98 euros i have=197 euros. Gratz, you just made 97 euros out of nothing by adding the money you have in your debt.

Same happened with this one, but your debt was 98 and the money you had 1, so 98+1=99 and you lost one euro.

Got it?

you set the problem differently now.i solved the 1st case already

i was not clear enough maybe.

you got 50 + 50 = 100$ in total.

you bought a shirt that costs 97$ . you have 3 $ now.

you give 1$ to finito and 1 to cryst

that leaves you with only 1 $ in your pocket which is the missing one.

Alternatively.

they got by you 1$ each so this makes your debt 49$ each

the shirt you bought cost 97(/2)=48.5 spent from each one's money

so your hand holds 1$ which you decide to give back to the owners. so every one will get 0.5$

it turns that you ve returned them 1.5$ /each(3$ both) and you owe them 48.5$/each(97$ both)

in both cases

spent money was 48.5$  97 in total

returned money was 1.5$  3 in total
