[GUIDE][EMU]How to Play PSX/PSone games at your PC v1.5.2/1.6.0./1.7.0

Hi. Are you old school gamer?do you miss your childhood but your old friend(psx) doesnt work anymore ? do you want to play some old legendary games but you cant find a PSX/PSone?Then this guide will fill you up.

 

This guide will cover all you need in order to play ALL the legendary Playstation 1 (PSX/PSone) games

 

Disclaimer:This guide is 100% handwritten and typed by Noble® for entertainment reasons so if you re going to re-post it in other forums or blogs please use proper credits.This guide is already posted weeks ago from my personal collection in my  blog for backup and proof reasons.

 

EMU stands for Emulator,which is the program that decrypts the psx games for the pc formats.

 

1)First you need the emulator.

 

you can dowload it from:

 

Mirror 1

Mirror 2  --->1.5.2 as it is the most stable in terms of config.

 

Unrar the emu.

 

Those links have the same files. though in case ,a link breaks you can use the other.

 

2)Download Bios for setting it up BIOS

Unrar and paste the bin into Bios folder

 

3)Secondly you ll have to add plugins. plugins are used in order to add and configure graphics,sounds,virtual cdroms and controllers.the uploaded files above have NO plugins.

 

Download graphics plugin : Here or alternatively check Here . i strongly recommend to use the first link. the second link has a collection of various gpu plugins which are poorly programmed and bad for psx emu.havent tried them in other emulators(only in 1.5.2 - 1.6.0 - 1.7.0).For these versions the only "decent" is the "Pete's OpenGL2 PSX GPU" but you will experience low fps/corrupted sound or poor graphics etc.

 

i recommend you again to use the first link as it has the best gpu plugin atm which is NOT in the 2nd link.go ahead to experiment yourself if you feel like.

 

 

4)Then download a sound plugin for windows Here.

 

When you download the plugins both sound and graphics unrar the folders til you see the dlls.

 

5)Copy them both and paste them in the Emu folder named "Plugin"

 

How to Configure ePSXe

 

1)open the ePSXe app. it ll open a config window. since you have Bios click next regardless of Bios selected.if you dont have bios , the config cant continue and it ll close

2)select your desired graphics plugin and click config.click Nice instead of fast (windows Millenium or 98 have to press fast)

3)Configure the graphics as the picture below.

Click select device top screen and put your Graphic card. default option is your ram.

Note: you may want to make better resolutions or click better options but those are the best in terms of perfomance and gameplay.(no slowdowns or bad music will occur.) alien pc is the same with a pentium 3 spec pc and it does NOT mean that psxe will handle bad configs.it is up to you to test different configs in games.

Warning: it will NOT change desktop resolution or colors.

4)Press next in sound plugin as the default cant be configured.(PM me if you want a configurable and better sound plugin)

5)Click next in cdroms.

6)Configure your controllers as you wish and press next

7)Close the app to apply the setup.

 

 

How to get a game.

If you have PSX cds(original or copies skip this step)

 

1)google it like "Emuparadise gran turismo 2"

2)Scroll down and Click Download Gran Turismo 2 like the pic

 

3)Close the small ads (ad block will not work) and reclick download when page refreshes.

4)Thats it. just use emuparadise in your google search if you want another game.Emuparadise is FREE and doesnt need any account or registration.

 

 

How to play(with CDS)

1)just put your cd in your drive.

2)Open ePSXe -->File-->Run CDRom

 

 

How to play(without CDS)

 

Usually most of the games are ISO format. in this case File-->Run ISO from the folder it is located.

 

 

ECM formats

 

You may also find ECM format games. in this case you need a tool in order to make them ISO fast.

Download

it is very simple. just DRAG the ECM  file to UNECM exe and it ll make it in 5-10seconds to iso.the ISO created will be located in your folder where it was before draging.

 

 

Random Staff you need to know.

 

There are games like Final Fantasy series which are 4 cds.if you finish one of them try to download the SAME format(PAL,NTSC,J).

Cds like PAL cd1 and J cd2 are NOT compatible and will find no saved data(your saves wont be lost)

 

Use ESC button if you need to check windows staff etc and if you want to return Run-->Continue

Dont close your pc from On/Off button. you ll lose your saved data to your last successful closed epsxe and shutdown
