Zeon® Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Ι still prefer AMD tho. i7 if possible not with many GHz but with many qualifications like Xeon. Quote
paokole Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 whatever cpu...ssd is doing the dirty job(i got i7 but nvm) Quote
d0m3n Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 You can OC it to work the same. Generally if you don't OC the i7 is obviously the better choice. Quote
caretaker Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 put your intel proccesor into your rubbish bin. Expensive items for not really incredible things. Choose AMD. horse shit power hungry crappy procceing power that rarelly are better then laptop i7-s or i5-s except when you go for the really expensive ones that are allmost as good ass the top i7 and you can only see the diference in gameing but rather then that i7 will beat amd on every test exept gameing were they are about equal. +and im not even talking about the stability in OC-ing the i7 were it gives a bit more shine Quote
[AoH]Kratos Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Depends on how much money you're willing to spend. Both work with the latest games. Quote
scrubs Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 People who says that i5 is better doesn't have a i7. True you can play basically any game with i5, I still have a normal quad core and I can play any game without problems. As long as you combine it with good a-beep-t of RAM, 64bit OS and possibly now a days SSD hard drive (even a SSD isn't needed for good performance, but it brings out the best in games). Of course i7 is better, when i8 comes it'll be better than i7, when i9 comes it'll be better than i8.. the pyramid of processors. And you guys that mention AMD, they were great, then they waited too long to come out with something, now intel is in the far lead, hopefully they can manage to get back to the same level as intel, but it'll take a while. [AoH]Kratos Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Exactly scrubs , the technology is not taking any break , they keep on bringing something new. If you have enough money now , invest them into Core i7 , so you will keep your computer " up to date " , if we can say this , for the next 2 years. Don't think like those " Oh , why would I give +200$ now for i7 instead of i5 , because in 6 months they will release i8 ". Thinking like those is like refusing to buy anything for the rest of your life , because they will always come up with something better ! Quote
scrubs Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 precisly, it's like buying an iphone or an ipad, every 6th month a new version comes, if you think "I'll buy a 4s when iphone 5 comes, it'll be cheaper" And the day they release iphone 5, a 4s wont look so good anymore :P Quote
Videur Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 i7 is good for lineage 2 since lineage 2 is optimized for P4, it does support hyperthreading, also the i7 is good for multitasking Quote
aoc Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 is true i5 is same as i7 for games? if you have top graphic cards - yes i7 is better. Quote
