MEGAUPLOAD RIP

Megaupload.com, one of the largest portals of content sharing around the world, has closed. According to WSJ report, the FBI has acused seven people (the MU owners), four of which have already been arrested.

 

Apparently these four officials have been arrested as in New Zealand, where federal agents have moved to proceed with the bank records and search servers. The charges include violation of copyright.

 

Closing Megaupload, Megavideo and Megaporn comes just one day after the protest against the controversial Internet SOPA Act​​. Yesterday (19/01/2011), wikipedia,google and facebook stopped their services for some minutes to protest for SOPA (stop online piracy act) law.

 

RIP Megaupload, today internet had died, and thats only the beggining.

Its awesome to think how a company like megaupload, that in the index of their site had some videos with opinions from really famous people like William (BE Peas singer) giving the best to them had been closed only 1 month after they SOPA had been aproved. As I have read, they will mess even with paypal  :-\
