I just played Garen into a ranked game.I did solo at top and HE'S FCKIN' AWESOME.

I was 5-0 at minute 16 with a boot, a doran's shield and a Giant's belt.

He is powerfull but i dont like him at all

Well you could try this build too : x2 Doran's Blade / Mercury Treads / Sunfire Cape / Atmas / Force of nature = WIN , plus he can deal really big dmg being tanky!

That's the way I bought items:

 

Doran's Shield, Giant's belt, lvl 1 boot, infinity (had plenty of money by farming top), Boots of Swiftness, Warmog's and then Atma's.I had 3.8k HP with 256 damage and 130 defensive stats xD

Know what? I doubt there's is a more simple champion, really.

 

Anyway, Garen is one of the strongest solo tops atm, but he's kinda weak late game.

Although ever champion has his own specific elements, more or less every champion is the same concerning the way they should be played.It's all about the skill the user has got, not the champion.

Xin before 45 patches, Lux, hmmmmm...huh. Yes, 10 sec cd in each ability and a skillshot shield. 2 gud.

Zeal first and then update to phantom it's a core item for Garen.
