Question

Any idea how I can make skills learnable with items? Kind of like the spellbook, except that you learn it with the SkillList window but instead of eating XP it eats a item. I think I got the idea on how to do it, but not sure where to put it or where to edit. I tried looking in RequestAquireSkill but it needs to be defined in L2SkillLearn (?).

Does it have anything to do with...

			int itemId = 27005;
.......
			if(itemId > -1)
			{
				L2ItemInstance spb = player.getInventory().getItemByItemId(itemId);

				if(27005 == null)
				{
					player.sendPacket(new SystemMessage(SystemMessageId.ITEM_MISSING_TO_LEARN_SKILL));
					return;
				}

				player.destroyItem("Consume", 27005, 1, trainer, true);
			}
		}

Hi MrRees, I'm not entirely sure what you want to do, the wording is a bit unclear.

Normally, you'd see a trainer for your character's class where you'd choose which skill you want. A spellbook and SP is consumed.

Do you want to make it so when you use the book in your inventory you learn the skill?

like when you learn a skill with a forgotten scroll but with X item?

I'm not so fimilar with the code yet but perhaps there is some sort of skill instance or player instance avaliable inside the class? I would look ingame the ID's up of the chests you can use to get items. Search that ID in the java code and trace it to a packet or something, and start looking around there.

An itemhandler with addSkill(skill, true).

skill has to be a L2Skill.

True is necessary to store the skill to be permanent, if you want a temporarly skill, use false.

Use Eclipse search tool for addSkill occurences (146 on my IL pack so far). Post your piece of code if you're blocked at implementation. If you got nothing, well, try harder.

Maybe I worded it wrong, but you know when you learn skills from Fisherman? Kind of like that not a item that gives a skill. Where would be the file to change the material needed? I looked in RequestAquireSkill and AquireSkillList.

So far, and correct me if I'm wrong, you can only touch to numbers. As SP, adenas is clientcoded. You can only "dynamically generate" numbers of SP/Adenas, not the type.

Serverpacket hasn't any infos about type, only requirement.
