Hello, I wanted to ask you something people, I have an L2J Server running on windows, and i want to run it on Debian... but i don't know much things about linux... anyway, I found a tutorial how to setup a server on Ubuntu, and I wanted to ask you if it is the same for the Linux Debian... if it is not, if someone has a tutorial how to setup l2j server on debian please give me a link. Thanks!

It might be a better idea to get a understand of linux operating systems first. Though, I can't imagine it being too much different than Ubuntu since Ubuntu is based off Debian I think.

ye, Ubuntu is a Debian "son"

and you will not get any real idea about linus if you not try it. Ofc start with a virtualbox at your pc, b4 rent a server

 

Essentially, Ubuntu is a frozen version of Debian Unstable and it has been worked with by the Ubuntu team. It is much more user friendly than Debian but it also has its limitations (apparently, there is a lack of compatibility with Debian packages).
