master yi alpha's strike

first of all I wanna say that I started around a month ago playing this game and one of my favourite champions is master yi. well I saw many ppl using his "alpha strike" as a ranged throwing skill. I mean, the champion uses the skill and appears back to the original position (looks like the enemy receives the DMG but master yi doesnt move). 

 

Can some1 tell me how to do this? TY

maybe he target a minion near him

Lets say for example there's a bunch of minions (around 4-5 minions) and an enemy Champion in there.

 

If you use your Alpha Strike in the closest minion to your distance, Alpha Strike attacks nearby enemies aswell, so the enemy champion will be hitted too.

no no ... let me explain again.

 

master yi uses alpha strike --> he moves to the target as a shadow --> makes damage --> and he go back to the original position as a shadow. (so turrets can hit u if ur near)

And that's exaclty what I told you.

 

Don't use your skill on the champion.Use it to a minion so when the spell is being casted, yi will attack the enemy who's close to the minions too and then get back to his position.
