Oh, I see.

first at all, you should use MySQL 5.5.15 is the last version atm.

now if you got stucked during wizard setup try this:

open C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Program Data\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.5\data

and open the .err file in a text editor, there you can see if you have an error, generally is a issues with logs files.

if you have that issue, just delete the files: ib_logfile0, ib_logfile1 and .err file.

then try to configure MySQL again using the wizard, and should works ;)

Run as adminstrator. You don't have rights to start new device.

If you got this error:

"The service could not be started Error:0"

you need put in windows path:

WinXP>My computer> Right click, properties>Advanced Setting>Enviroment Variable>

In system variable: NEW>Variable name: MYSQL Variable value: C:\Program File\MySQL\MySQL

Server 5.0\bin> OK > OK

NOTE: MySQL Server 5.0 should be changed to the version you have. Check the directory name.
