I know when u want players to easy connect to ur server u simply make patch and add ur IP

but i have seen on some server system folders they dont display IP but line:L2authd.Lineage2.com

without asking users to change host file

how to do that?

They use none ip... for more security though but imo you can find the ips from cmd

 

Read a guide how to make non-ip if you want this as you said.

I think what you are looking for is editing the Windows HOSTS file located in windows/system32/drivers/etc area. By adding the server IP followed with l2authd.lineage2.com after it tells the L2 client to ignore the retail server and connect to the IP in the hosts file.

 

Example:

 

123.456.789.012 l2authd.lineage2.com

 

Anytime you run any L2 game client it will connect to 123.456.789.012 instead of the retail servers. Only problem is that if you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7 you will need to turn off User Security as the host file is write protected.

Those servers who use this method have dedicated machines and they are not hosted on home PC!

I think this would be really usefull,no-ip is used if u host server on home PC!

Also this is somehow done without players touching host file on PC!

 

Main idea is not to display IP on system folder!

using system folder is in general stupid that has nothing to do with dedicated or home pc its just way of connecting.

 

Anyway the ip can be found out easily after connecting to the server so such things are worthless.
