Source:Counter-strike.com 1. Know your weapons Know your weapons strength, weaknesses, and most of all how much ammo is in it. You should always be using the right weapon for the right scenario. For example you wouldn’t want to go into close quarters combat with a sniper rifle. So, you should switch to your pistols. Vice versa once you made it out of a close quarter’s area and your out in a wide open space switch back to your sniper rifle. Also make sure your backup weapons are loaded and they are binded in case you need to quickly switch back to them. Never Spray and Pray’ (Accuracy will keep you alive) One of the most common mistakes that newbie’s will make is holding down the fire button. Holding down the fire button with automatic weapons will greatly reduce the player’s accuracy. In fact if they hold down the button too long they will hit anything but their target. Usually firing one to three rounds at a time is best. 2. Stay with your teammates Never try to go off and play Rambo. Stay with friends and use team work to take out the enemy and stay alive. Think of this many real world tactics and strategies use team work. For example house clearing. Wouldn’t it be easier to have three players with you before you go through a door way while one teammate covers your back another watches the overhead area. And another throws a flash bang into the room. You are unlikely to be shot from behind, the enemy can’t rush out and kill you, and finally you never have to let your guard down not having a weapon ready since you are throwing a flash bang. You might not get great support like this scenario in a pub server. You can still get one or two teammates to help you though. You will have to have your mic and good voice commands you are likely to coerce team members to cover your back and throw in a flash bang for you. 3. Use your Radar Radar is perhaps the most blown off or unused tool in Counter Strike. Radar is essential and there is no excuse for opening up on your teammates and friendly fire deaths. Radar- Is the green circle icon on your screen that helps you know your location and your surroundings Here are five important icons to remember -A red dot represents the VIP (Only seen by CT’s on as_maps/bomb carrier is only seen by the T’s on de_maps -A T shape represents a teammate a level above you. -An upside down T shape represents a Team member a level below you. -A yellow square represents a Teammate using the Radio 4. Use communication IF you are going to excel in clan matches you’re going to have to use team strategies. To use any strategies or tactics you will need to communicate. So, you should bind essential radio commands that will help you communicate with your teammates. You can also get a decent mic and talk to your teammates. Just make sure all talk is not on obviously. Some players will even bind aliases to give text messages. 5. Use Stealth Stealth is extremely important. Remember noise gives you away! Walking over grates, rooftops is especially loud, and don’t forget climbing ladders. Use a M4 or usp with a silencer Use a silenced weapon so you won’t give away your location. If you are a T this is even better; because the CT’s will not expect a sneaky T with a silenced M4a that he has acquired. Also it’s optimal to take out the enemy and not give away your exact location to the enemies. Step Silent Use the side of walls to walk along to slow your speed slightly and silence your steps. Even better you can crouch and use the walk key to slow and silence your steps. Going up and down ladders You can actually crouch while going down a ladder; and guess what you will make no noise at all. Going up or down a ladder you should walk into the wall while on the ladder. Make sure you only to move your mouse a tiny bit to ensure you go up or down. This way you can stay silent. You can use stealth and still be offensive. You should practice stalking enemies by using your radar, listen for footsteps, all while keeping quiet and hidden yourself. Coming up on an unaware enemy at close range is an easy kill. Stay in inconspicuous low lighted areas of the map. There is nothing wrong with hiding if you are low on health. Try this and you will be surprised at the number of players that will fly right by you. 6. Know your location and surroundings Know where you are, your teammates, and where enemies are likely to be. You should always take a quick check to how many players are still alive too. Plus if you see that a member on your team just died and you know he was in a location ahead of you. You know that the enemy is in that location now. Keeping the enemy guessing where you are at is crucial. Keep quiet and be prepared. If the enemy knows your location after a firefight you should move out of that area. If you have been spotted or it is too late keep your self moving in a way that you are unlikely to be hit by the enemy. Use quick strafing techniques while you take shots at the enemy. Popular techniques to make your self a hard target include the following. Strafe and zigzag towards your enemy to take him out. Do it quickly so other teammates do not come to assist him or get to your location in time to help him. Jump up and down to avoid being shot in the head. Players are used to changing their aim more horizontally than a drastic vertical change. Note: you can only do this now and then for a short time when you cannot avoid taking fire from the enemy. This is great if you have an AWP because jumping will not affect your aim. Lure the enemy into an ambush. Run towards your teammates and get in position to take out the enemy that is chasing after you. This is great if you have low health and ammo. Shoot then ambush: fire a few shots in the enemies’ general direction run back and take cover. While the enemy is searching for you take him out with a few shots. The great thing about this technique is the enemy is usually out in the open, they don’t know where you are, and you know exactly where they are at. Plus after you kill them they will feel a little stupid. Out of game help 1. Setup your controls to optimize your game play See the control settings article 2. Get the best hardware and tweak your settings Sites like rage3d.com will give you knowledge and the know how to get the highest CPU speed and FPS in counterstrike strategy 3. Practice, Practice, Practice There is no substitute for practice. Players that get more out of practice our ones that learn techniques then slowly apply them in real live game play. Also players that succeed are ones that keep an open mind (even if they are very experienced) and learn from strategies and as well as mistakes. Many players will agree that being able to dominate in counter strike will defiantly make game play much more enjoyable. Have fun!

Hey this guide is for people that want to instal plugin to their server and they don't know how When I say plugin I'm talking about the basic one, like if the terro die and the bomb dropped the ct can go defuse it and the ct's win the round ( I love this plugin .. game goes more fast ) Well so first you need to go to a website where you can get plugin for cs Try to find plugin that work on AMX mod X ( if you have it ) Ok so If the website gave you a .sma file then put it in this document: C:\HLServer\cstrike\addons\amxmodx\scripting and double click on Compile.exe ( You should have this folder with the application if you have AMX mod X installed If not and you want it go here Then after Compile.exe ended you should find your .amxx file in C:\HLServer\cstrike\addons\amxmodx\scripting\compi led If your file isn't there it's because the .sma file doesn't work with amx mod x. After this is complet, take your .amxx file and put it in C:\HLServer\cstrike\addons\amxmodx\plugins It's not all, now you have to active it for you server. Go to C:\HLServer\cstrike\addons\amxmodx\configs and open plugins.ini with notepad or bloc note Scroll down and under ; Custom - Add 3rd party plugins here Write the complet name of the file you put in C:\HLServer\cstrike\addons\amxmodx\plugins should be like (thename).amxx Reload your server and it should work Good luck

There is separate places where to use color codes. Example: cl_crosshair_color "xxx xxx xxx" or con_color "xxx xxx xxx" - to use, copy middle numbers (example 255 255 255) and you have white crosshair. THIS TUTORIAL IS FOR THE REAL BEGINNERS! In this tutorial i will learn you 4 very simple, basic secrets. The 4 secrets im going to learn you are the following: * Breakable walls * Walktrough walls * Invisible brushes ( walls ) * Invisible ladders Breakable walls. 1.Create a brush ( wall.. ). 2. Double click on your wall. 3. A little screen should pop up, set the class to : func_breakable 4. You can mess around with the settings, but the most important is the strenght of your wall, and the material type. 5. The strenght is the strenght of your wall, how strong your wall is. If you set the strenght to 100 its like 100hp in the game. 6. The material type depends on your texture, if you use wood choose the wood, metal = metal, etc. That was the breakable wall. Walktrough wall. 1.Create a brush. 2. Double click on it and set the class to : func_illusionary Invisible wall. 1.Create a brush. 2. Click your brush and press shift+a 3 Type invisible tool in the filter and double click. You can also use player clip instead of invisible, you can compare a invisible wall with a normal wall. But if you use the player clip only a player cant walk trough but you can trough a grenade trough it.If you want player click use the playerclip tool texture for your wall. Invisible ladders. 1.Create your brush in the shape of a ladder. 2. Choose ladder for your texture ( click on brush, shift+a, filter ladder tool, double click and apply ) That was my tutorial, 4 basic secrets. Good luck with your mapping carreer. Made by Nightsnipe

Intro/disclaimer: This won' t be of any use to most of you since you already know about most of the content, but the newer, inexperienced players may find this to be of some use. If you have any corrections or anything to add to this please pm me about it or post it as a response; I will then edit and credit you. This is what happens when I get very, very bored, or when I join a new community and have nothing else to do :]. Don't forget to if you found this useful! Here's the basic format of it: [Weapon name] (Buy menu weapon name) [Type]-[knife;pistol;shotgun;SMG;rifle;machine gun;equipment] [Clip size]-[value] [Accuracy]-[very high;high;medium;low;very low] [Optimal range]-[long;medium;short] [Rate of fire] [Damage per Headshot]-[mode value, not average] [Approx body hit damage] [Player Speed]-(how fast you can run with the gun)-[player speed index figure*] [Alternate fire]-[burst;zoom;silence] [point modifier*]-[The higher the number, the more points you get for killing with that weapon] [Reload Speed]-[very slow;slow;med;fast] [Analysis]-[summary of weapon] - All figures based on enemies wearing kevlar & a helmet I know that my analysis sections are a little lame, so if any of you can make better ones, please pm me with them, or any pictures which you want me to add - too lazy to take them myself! Visionary = lazy at times =P. *About the player speed index The number you see in the player speed field refers to how slowly you run with that weapon compared to a knife. For example, if the gun has the number 1.2 beside it, it means you run 1.2 times slower with that gun than you do with a knife. *About the point modifier The point modifier is the default setting of points you would get if you killed someone with that gun in an hlstatsx server. Knife Type: Knife (duh) Clip Size: N/A Accuracy: Very high on x/y axes; Z axis a different story Rate of fire: High in primary fire, low in secondary Damage Per Headshot: N/A Body Hit Damage: N/A Player Speed: Very fast (fastest) (1.00) Optimal Range: Very close Alt. Fire: Stabby stabby =l==> Points Modifier: 2.00; 3.00 on DM Reload Speed: N/A Analysis: Two main situations to use this- desperation and humiliation. Make sure you're moving towards your enemy when you strike for max. damage. Also run with the knife out when rushing, as you'll be fastest that way. USP (KM Tactical .45) Type: Pistol Clip Size: 12 Accuracy: Medium Rate of Fire: Fast Damage Per Headshot: ~70 Body Hit Damage: 15-20 Player Speed: Very fast (1.03) Optimal Range: Short-med Alt. Fire: Silencer Points Modifier: 1.40 Reload Speed: Fast (2.5 sec) Analysis: Default CT pistol, but terrorists can buy it as well. The USP is the jack-of-all-trades but master of none, being medium in almost all aspects. A good all-rounder, but no specialty. Glock (9x19mm Sidearm) Type: Pistol Clip Size: 20 Accuracy: Med/high single shot, high in burst Rate of Fire: Very high single shot, med in burst Damage Per Headshot: 50 Body Hit Damage: 10-12 Player Speed: Very Fast (1.03) Optimal Range: Short-med Alt. Fire: 3-shot burst function Points Modifier: 1.40; 1.00 on DM Reload Speed: Fast (2.2 sec) Analysis: Default Terrorist pistol. Has a bit of a humiliation factor associated with it, but other than that it doesn't have much of a use in $16K servers like NG. As distance increases, damage approaches zero. P228 (228 compact) Type: Pistol Clip Size: 13 Accuracy: Med/low Rate of Fire: Fast Damage Per Headshot: ~94 Body Hit Damage: 20-30 Player Speed: Very fast (1.03) Optimal Range: Short-med Alt. Fire: N/A Points Modifier: 1.50 Reload Speed: Fast (2.6 sec) Analysis: Very similar to the USP in most aspects, but it packs much more damage against kevlar. Its a bit less accurate than the USP, but you gain that extra round as a compromise. Deagle (Knighthawk .50C) Type: Pistol Clip Size: 7 Accuracy: High/med Rate of Fire: Med Damage Per Headshot: 135 (156 point-blank) Body Hit Damage: 30-35 Player Speed: Very Fast (1.03) Optimal Range: Any Alt. Fire: N/A Points Modifier: 1.20 Reload Speed: Fast (2.1 sec) Analysis: Most popular pistol out there; headshot=instagib. Handles like an Ak in the way that the first shot is very accurate, but faulters after that. When using it either take the time to aim for the head or quickly let off 3-4 body shots. FiveSeven (ES Five-Seven) Type: Pistol Clip Size: 20 Accuracy: High Rate of Fire: High Damage Per Headshot: 70 Body Hit Damage: <20 Player Speed: Very fast (1.03) Optimal Range: Med-long Alt. Fire: N/A Points Modifier: 1.50 Reload Speed: Med (3.1 sec) Analysis: Most accurate pistol out there, with a large clip, but very week. Best used at range and aimed at a head (duh) Dualies (.40 Dual Elites) Type: Pistol Clip Size: 30 Accuracy: Very low Rate of Fire: Fast Damage Per Headshot: 60-80 Body Hit Damage: 15-20 Player Speed: Very Fast (1.03) Optimal Range: Close Alt. Fire: N/A Points Modifier: 1.40 Reload Speed: Very slow (4.8 sec) Analysis: Very powerful and very cool, but very low accuracy. Power is second only to the deagle among pistols, and has a massive clip for a pistol. Best used at close range against multiple enemies. Auto-shotty/xm1014 (YG1265) Type: Shotgun Clip Size: 7 Accuracy: Low Rate of Fire: Med (4.5 rds/sec) Damage Per Headshot: Dependant on range; max 120 Body Hit Damage: Dependant on range Player Speed: Med Optimal Range: Close Alt. Fire: N/A Points Modifier: 1.10 Reload Speed: Fast Analysis: Common sense for this one- use at close range and let 'er rip. Avoid using it in large maps, as it won't be much use there. M3 (Leone 12 Guage Super) Type: Shotgun Clip Size: 8 Accuracy: Med Rate of Fire: Low Damage Per Headshot: Range dependant; max 130 Body Hit Damage: Range dependant Player Speed: Med Optimal Range: Close-med Alt. Fire: N/A Points Modifier: 1.20 Reload Speed: Fast Analysis: Much more powerful than its automatic cousin, and significantly greater range as well. A headshot from close-med range will kill in one shot but be sure to time your shots wisely, or you'll be killed between shots. TMP (Schmidt Machine Pistol) Type: Sub-machinegun Clip Size: 30 Accuracy: Med/high Rate of Fire: Very fast (15 rds/sec) Damage Per Headshot: 45-60 Body Hit Damage: ~15 Player Speed: Very fast (1.03) Optimal Range: Close Alt. Fire: N/A Points Modifier: 1.50; 1.00 on DM Reload Speed: Fast (2 sec) Analysis: Silent but deadly. Fastest rate of fire of any gun in the game, very silent, and fairly accurate. Unfortunately its extremely weak, but its light weight allows you to rush quickly...if you like to rush. Mac10 (Ingram Mac10) Type: Sub-machinegun Clip Size: 30 Accuracy: Low Rate of Fire: Very high (13 rds/sec) Damage Per Headshot: 55 Body Hit Damage: 15-20 Player Speed: Very fast (1.03) Optimal Range: Close Alt. Fire: N/A Points Modifier: 1.50 Reload Speed: Med (3.1 sec) Analysis: Powerful, but inaccurate. What more do you need know? UMP 45 (KM UMP 45) Type: Sub-machinegun Clip Size: 25 Accuracy: Med-high Rate of Fire: Low-med (9.6 rds/sec) Damage Per Headshot: 50-60 Body Hit Damage: 15 Player Speed: Very fast (1.03) Optimal Range: Short-med Alt. Fire: N/A Points Modifier: 1.20 Reload Speed: Med (3 sec) Analysis: Useless. If you insist on using it, don't hold down fire; instead you need to take 1-2 shot bursts to keep it accurate. However, by the time you get around to killing anyone that way you could have killed them in half the time with any other weapon. If it only had a higher rate of fire... MP5 Navy (KM Submachinegun) Type: Sub-machinegun Clip Size: 30 Accuracy: High-med Rate of Fire: High (12 rds/sec) Damage Per Headshot: 50 Body Hit Damage: 15 Player Speed: Very fast (1.03) Optimal Range: Short-med Alt. Fire: N/A Points Modifier: 1.20 Reload Speed: Fast (2.5 sec) Analysis: Most accurate of all the SMG's, and a pretty decent rate of fire, too. Be sure to aim at the head though, or you'll spending 6-8 body shots per kill. Unfortunately it runs through its clip very quickly. P90 (ECS 90) Type: Sub-machinegun Clip Size: 50 Accuracy: Med Rate of Fire: Very high (14 rds/sec) Damage Per Headshot: 75 Body Hit Damage: 20 Player Speed: Very fast (1.03) Optimal Range: Short-med Alt. Fire: N/A Points Modifier: 1.20; 0.50 on DM Reload Speed: Slow (3.5 sec) Analysis: Very powerful and very fast firing SMG. In skilled hands it can stop an entire team's rush, and kill very quickly. Best suited to smaller maps like office, and horrible in larger maps. This gun also tends to be headshot happy for some reason. Should also mention that in full auto its ever so slightly more accurate than the M4. Famas (Clarion 5.56) Type: Assault rifle Clip Size: 25 Accuracy: Med-high normal; high in bursts Rate of Fire: Fast (11 rds/sec) Damage Per Headshot: 80 Body Hit Damage: 20-25 Player Speed: Slow (1.2) Optimal Range: Med-long Alt. Fire: 3-round burst Points Modifier: 1.00 Reload Speed: Med-fast (2.9 sec) Analysis: Comparable to the M4A1, but with a smaller clip and less power. The burst fire mode makes it useful from long range, but it weighs you down even more than an M4. Its another casualty of the $16K server. Galil (IDC Defender) Type: Assault rifle Clip Size: 35 Accuracy: Med Rate of Fire: High (11 rds/sec) Damage Per Headshot: 90 Body Hit Damage: 20-25 Player Speed: Slow (1.2) Optimal Range: Short-med Alt. Fire: N/A Points Modifier: 1.10; 1.00 on DM Reload Speed: Med-fast(2.8 sec) Analysis: The bastard child of a rifle and SMG. Fastest rate of fire and largest clip amongst rifles. The first few shots are accurate if crouched, but after that the bullets have a mind of its own. Its also the heaviest of the assault rifles, so don't be expecting to run fast. Its still pretty powerful, though. M4A1 (Maverick M4A1 Carbine) Type: Assault rifle Clip Size: 30 Accuracy: High/med Rate of Fire: High (10 rds/sec) Damage Per Headshot: 90 Body Hit Damage: ~20-25 Player Speed: Med (1.1) Alt. Fire: Silencer Optimal Range: Short-med Points Modifier: 1.00 Reload Speed: Med (3.1 sec) Analysis: Most popular assault rifle on most servers, matches, and and a great all-rounder. Fast rate of fire, pretty good accuracy, and not all that bad in full auto - unlike a lot of other rifles. However its 2 headshots to a kill, which can prove costly many times. Its also heavier than the AK. When spraying, aim at the upper chest area, not at the feet like a lot of people do (after all, its not an AK). Adding the silencer weakens it a bit, and causes slightly more recoil. AK47 (CV 47) Type: Assault rifle Clip Size: 30 Accuracy: Very high/very low (heavy recoil) Rate of Fire: High (10 rds/sec) Damage Per Headshot: 110 Body Hit Damage: 27 Player Speed: Medium (1.1) Optimal Range: Med-long Alt. Fire: N/A Points Modifier: 1.00 Reload Speed: Fast (2.3 sec) Analysis: Deadly in the hands of those who know how to use it, useless to those who don't. First shot super accurate, 2 shots burst are similar, but if you go full auto it becomes like a man with Parkinson's orgasming. If you do have to spray, aim at the feet and hope to hell a shot hits the head. Accuracy is less dependent on crouching than most other weapons, which gives a bit of an advantage. SG552 (Krieg 552) Type: Assault rifle Clip Size: 30 Accuracy: High-med Rate of Fire: High (11 rds/sec) Damage Per headshot: 85 Body Hit Damage: 20-25 Player Speed: Med (1.1) Optimal Range: Med Alt. Fire: 2x zoom Points Modifier: 1.00 Reload Speed: Med (2.9 sec) Analysis: Similar to its CT counterpart; its a bit weaker and less accurate when scoped, but much better in full auto than the AUG. Good in a variety of situations. If you're not comfortable with the AK, this is a good alternative. AUG (Bullpup) Type: Assault rifle Clip Size: 30 Accuracy: High-med Rate of Fire: Med (6 rds/sec) Damage Per headshot: ~90 Body Hit Damage: ~23 Player Speed: Med-slow (1.15) Optimal Range: Any Alt. Fire: 2x zoom Points Modifier: 1.00 Reload Speed: Med-Slow (3.2 sec) Analysis: More powerful than the Sg552 in single shots, as well as being slightly more accurate. Full auto is a different story, though. Scout (Shmidt Scout) Type: Sniper rifle Clip Size: 10 Accuracy: High, but low for a sniper rifle Rate of Fire: Low Damage Per Headshot: ~240 Body Hit Damage: 60; 75 in upper chest Player Speed: Fast (1.03) Optimal Range: Long Alt. Fire: 2x and 4x zoom Points Modifier: 1.10 Reload Speed: Fast (2 sec) Analysis: The lightest sniper rifle in the game, which gives the maneuverability advantage over the others. Try to aim for the head for an instant kill, or quickly make 2 body shots. Proper use is strafe, duck, shoot, repeat. Unfortunately, its a bit inaccurate for a sniper rifle, so you'll have to crouch, or stand still for a bit for full accuracy, which can be dangerous. Sg550 (Krieg 550 Commando) Type: Sniper rifle Clip Size: 30 Accuracy: High (heavy recoil) Rate of Fire: Med Damage Per Headshot: 185 Body Hit Damage: 50 Player Speed: Very slow (1.2) Alt. Fire: 2x and 4x zoom Points Modifier: 0.80; 0.10 on DM Reload Speed: Slow (3.6 sec) Analysis: Semi-automatic sniper rifle for those who aren't confident with bolt-action rifles. A bit weak, plus some nasty recoil, but it has a nice large clip, making taking on multiple enemies a breeze. G3Sg1 (D3/AU-1) Type: Sniper rifle Clip Size: 20 Accuracy: High (heavy recoil) Rate of Fire: Med Damage Per Headshot: 250 Body Hit Damage: 60 Player Speed: Very slow (1.2) Alt. Fire: 2x and 4x zoom Points Modifier: 0.80; 1.00 on DM Reload Speed: Slow (3.6 sec) Analysis: Basically a semi-automatic scout with more recoil. I'll leave the deductive reasoning to you. AWP (Magnum Sniper Rifle) Type: Sniper rifle Clip Size: 10 Accuracy: Very high Rate of Fire: Low Damage Per Headshot: ~400 Body Hit Damage: 110; 84 to arms and lower legs. Player Speed: Slooow (1.2) Optimal Range: Long Alt. Fire: 2x and 4x zoom Points Modifier: 1.00 Reload Speed: Slow (3 sec) Analysis: Aim. Shoot. Kill. Next! M249 Para Type: Machinegun Clip Size: 100 Accuracy: High in burst, low full auto (heavy recoil) Rate of Fire: Med-high (9 rds/sec) Damage Per Headshot: 90 Body Hit Damage: 25 Player Speed: Slow (1.1) Optimal Range: Close-med Alt. Fire: N/A Points Modifier: 1.20 Reload Speed: Very slow (4.5 sec) Analysis: Large clip, decent rate of fire, and very accurate in 2-3 shot bursts when crouched. Very effective at clearing out multiple enemies. It does slow you down a lot, so stay out of the open.

As most of you may know, Surf maps are getting pretty popular nowadays. Lots of people play on these maps without even knowing any of their secrets. This guide will teach you one secret to a popular Surf map. The map: surf_japan_super_v1 The Secret: A concealed buy-zone. How-to: Step-by-step: 1) While in the spawn zone, surf down the first ramp. 2) In the area in front of the ramp should be a large river, with multiple indentes in the sides. 3) Jump into the water after the first indent in the left side of the ramp, and before the first indent to the right. 4) Make sure to stay as close to the wall as possible, up against it with no space in between. 5) You should catch on the right indent, and be sort of glitched there, wanting to continue but being pushed against the wall. 6) Go all the way down this little corridor, until the dead end. 7) Bam! You are in a buy zone. I usually buy an AWP and a few nades and camp on top of one of the buildings for a while. Thanks, and I hope you own some noobs! By: Hallowsend

If you play CS:S, you know about surf servers. Servers with lots of people, lots of spawn camping, and lots of A and D. Well, your right. But if youve never played a surf server, or have played one limitedly, you should continue reading this guide. Surfing in CS:S is not easy. If you go too slow or too fast, you will skid into the ceiling or fall into the ground, both resulting in jail and / or death. Timing is precise, and if you don't know what to do, surfing could easily prove difficult for you. First, lets start off with the basics. To surf, jump on either side of a ramp, and hit either A or D, depending on which side of the ramp you are on. If on the left side of the ramp, press D, if on the right, press A. The top of the ramp is standable (Meaning you can stand on it) So if you are jumping on a ramp from a distance landing in the middle means death. If you climb your way up there, it is a great camp spot. ^Ramp. While surfing, I find that I go faster and smoother if I have the knife out while I am surfing. This also allows me to humiliate anybody I encounter while in surf. To go from ramp to ramp if they are spread apart, jumpimg is useless. Pressing the space bar does nothing while surfing. I always find it easier to cross ramps if I go on the opposite side of the ramp im on, and cross the other side to get to the ramp. ^ What im talking about. When you get to the end of a ramp, you may find something I call a portal. It is a window, mostly an odd color or pattern, and takes you somewhere other than where you were when you entered the portal. Some examples of where these portals take you are: In / near opposite spawn site, Outside jail, another track to continue surfing. Depending on the map, the portal you go through might result in instant death, or lots of mindless spawn killing. ^Portal Stinky, toilets and beds in the same room, everyone showers together, soap... Where am I talking about? No not a fancy hotel. Im talking about jail. In counter-strike, if you fall off of a ramp at some point, you might be taken to jail. This is a place in which everyone who falls goes and battles each other. Usually, there is some 3rd party able to let you out of jail or a timer to open a door or portal. But thats only if you are the last man standing. ^Jail Thank you for reading my guide on surfing! By:Hallowsend

CSS Strategy Guide # Author: (X-7) Hi there! - My name in Counter Strike is and has always been (X-7). I used to be CT in 1.6, always with the Bullpup rifle. But now in CSS for some reason I suck with that, which is weird as it used to be my weapon of choice. Anyways this guide is all the shiz I learnt with non-stop practice and observation - How to kill like a demon while staying alive! TIP: Every time get killed in action here in Counter Strike, ask yoursel why. What bloody mistake did you make to get shot down? Think - and make sure to always recognise your mistakes, then make your rules, follow them, and you will live to fight. ' There were too many' is not an excuse, move out of your location and make your way through the maps, taking down obstacles on your way. Notice: The best way to improve is to practice, I'm talking about 30min a day minimum. FPS NOOB: Play in Easy Mode against CPU. 1 on 1 is good. Once your good, add 1 more ennemy from opposite team, while you stay solo. Then add another one. If your pretty good by then, congratulate yourself by adding dudes into your team. Now go play online and get a feel of the battle zone! Good FPS Player: I am a Halo Legendary player. Yet I failed in Counter Strike when I started. This game is not for noobs, you will need to be ferocious, ruthless, smart and in control here. Every 0.1 second counts. Play in normal mode, you should be able to handle 1 on 1 once you get familiar with the weapons. Now try 2 against you. Still ok? Try 3. Getting harder now eh? Solution: Practice. Lean from your mistakes. Better now? WELL DONE! You are now almost as good as I am. Lets move on. Hard Mode CPU Warm Up: Holy jizm. That CPU is trigger happy isn't he? Almost as good as you eh? Time to start using that brain of yours more. Fire a shot - he knows where you are and will move up to your location, ready to fire. Show yourself - he will fire, the move up to you. He's a better shot than the easier modes. Careful. The answer again is to follow (1) and (2) below. Movement and good, juicy, burst shots. Take him down! Now add another CPU. Same idea, just need to watch your back more and to be ready to fire any second. Movement, my friend... movement. Just turn back and work your way through the map, this is why CSS gives you nice different paths and cover throughout the game. Big surprise now! If you feel confident, comfortable and competitive while playing against 3 Hard Mode CPU, thats 3 against you solo, then you have reached my level on single player mode. You should be a competitive player online now. The trick is not to die. Not to die means movement. Movement means being able also to spill your juice and aim for some good, sharp-shooter shots to take down your ennemies. Set yourself this target - if it takes you more than 2 seconds to bring him/ her down, then you need to practice. This applies for the pistol also. TIP If you fail to bring one down straight away, NO WORRIES! Just turn back and move away from your position, and get back to it. By doing this, you've freaked out your ennemy, saved him for desert rather than as an appetizer. He knows you got him by surprise, he knows you didn't manage to take him down, you were toying him, and, most importantly, you were smart enaugh to get your ass out of there. If you are nodding your head and smiling right now, then your a good player. If your thinking 'wtf', then continue through the guide, and then go practice. Expert CPU Warm up: Oh yesh! Again - try 1 on 1. Eheheh he's a good shot eh? Secret again (shouldnt be a secret by now) Improved and more movement as well as good shots. Stick to your weapon of choice (mine is the M4 Carbine) and do your stuff. You should be able to win a round of 15 score max. Dont worry if you dont, keep practicing. Adapt to this more complex and touher CPU. Mind the sniper though, they are good. Show some brain power and you can take him down. TIP Burst shots are good, but MAKE THEM FAST, once you stop firing you will get a bullet through your brains. If you got a good aim and feel comfortable with the recoil, fire a burst of ~8 to ~10 automatic rounds to bring him down. Notice that people find it EXTREMELY hard to aim and fire while being hit by any weapon as long as the hits are good and steady. Keep it in mind, and use this knowledge at your own will. [GUIDE] (1) The Golden Rule Move your ass. Yeah, that's right Every time you bring down an ennemy, chances are he/she was with a buddy. If not, your ennemies will see on the mini-map that one of their team mates is KIA, and yes, they heard you firing, unless you had a silencer on (note: can reduce accuracy, be careful, but not with all weapons, the M4 Carbine is just fine with a silencer). They will come to your position form different possible angles and chances are you will be pwned. It has been working for me for 2 years now. After every shot, after every kill, I move away from my position and go stalk down other people from different locations. EVERY TIME I have failed to move, I always got shot at, and 95% of the time got killed in the time of 3 seconds MAXIMUM. So, please, don't allow yourself to get shot down like this - move, stay sharp, check your angles, and get ready to fire another round. TIP: Make sure you got space to move your hands and your mouse, so that you can rotate fast to check your sides and behind when moving, this is VITAL (dont want to get shot in the ass, would you?). If this doesn't help enaugh, check your mouse sensitivity in Mouse Options. Sticking to cover, walls also helps. A lot. Constant, swift and smooth movement is the KEY to staying alive. (2) Firing a rifle This applies to the CT M4 Carbine and to the T Krieg 552 rifle, which I both use very often. Its not easy to bring down an ennemy if your not good so here is advice! - Keep your aim steady. - Fire in short bursts and not in full automatic when you are aiming at an ennemy from a certain distance. And AIM FOR THE HEAD! (If you are using a Magnum Sniper Rifle though, don't bother with head shots, just make sure to hit the target). - Adjust your aim when firing, which is easy to do as you are supposed to be moving! Do not jump, charge forwards/sideways while hitting the crouch button. But if you feel like a good shot, just crouch from your position and aim. Burst shots, always. Bring them down, make them know their getting screwed before they die. And I can't say this enaugh - keep your aiming sharp and steady! Using walls helps, cover, move out, fire. If your under too much fire or you see a sniper, get the hell out of there by reversing direction. This is part of (1), move! Use the edge of walls to fire at your ennemy without needing to actually see them, I get a lot of kills like that. (3) Shmoke Grenades 2 uses: A - Narrow passage or critical spot for ennemies. Makes it hard to see, but can be ineffective depending on the map. B - Cover for you or for allies. Test it! Chuck a smoke grenade, and go inside the smoke while its still fresh, try to go right in the centre of the smoke. Most people can't see you now, but they can still guess from where the shots are being fired, so a sniper is recommended here, to be honnest. (4) About cover Don't let it fool you - most of it are death traps. Exposing your head, making it easy for headshots, and obvious to ennemies where you are, which are by now spitting bullets tearing through wood and bouncing off rocks. Cover is great - but try to stay unpredictable, out of sight and with a good shooting angle, with a good escape route while being able to watch your back. Oh, and careful, if ennemies know you are in a place with a lot of cover (typical map for this is De_Dust_4), they will chuck a few flash and HE grenades, and chances are you're pretty much screwed. Being creative is good, but always try to get the advantage over your ennemies - which is surprising them. Example: Oh, when you're in cover against a group of ennemies. Lets say your behind a box, and there is a door in front of you. 1 ennemy comes out of the door and you shoot him down. Get ready for the second one, you're in cover anyways. NOT! Get that ass of yours out of there ASAP while keeping an eye at that door, and expect someone to be rusing out of it with fast shooting reflexes. Move out of there, best is to run. If you got a sniper and very good reflexes, good, you might be able to handle staying in cover, but for 90% of you guys, including myself, get out of there and find another approach to bring down those invaders. DON'T BE PREDICTABLE! Meh... well that's all I could come up with now. - Please feel free to ask questions and for advice - Do not ask me which weapon to use! We're all different! (even though I'd recommend the M4 Carbine for all eheh.. classic). - I can offer special advice for these maps: * DeDust * DeDust2 * Aztec * Lost_Temple_Pro * Assault * Estate * Sea Side Resort 26

Exerticus' CS:S Guide: Movement Here is the second installment of my CS:S guide. This section will cover movement, this will include when to walk, run, strafe, and how to move effectively with any type of weapon. This will touch on firing patterns as well, but I will, for the most part, save that for a later installment. Some of these sections might seem helpful for first week players only, but I assure you that there is information in these sections that nearly anybody can benefit from. Walking VS Running There are some instances in Counter-Strike that call for stealth, whether it is to prevent a CT from hearing you approach the hostages in a CS_Office pub, or in a CEVO-P finals match. Some might just stick a silencer onto their rifle and be done with it. While that can prevent the enemies from pinpointing where you are at long ranges, it does not help at all in close-range situations. Something important to remember is that, for the most part, maps in Counter-Strike are small. Which means that anybody with a $20 headset and onboard sound can hear your footsteps. In all my experience of playing Counter-Strike one of the situation that will kill a player the most is when they do not know when to walk. Looking at this from a competitive player's point of view, walking does take time. Making your way into a bombsite with three enemy Terrorists with the bomb ticking is often very intimidating to players and the faster the beeping gets, the faster they want to get to the bomb. Yes, you will have less time if you walk into the bombsite, but, if that means that you can get the jump on one enemy, then you just turned a 3v1 into a 2v1, which is much easier to win. Also, do not forget that once your stealth is blown, it's gone. Once you take your first shot, the enemies will know where you are and will be calling that spot out for their teammates. At that point, walking is just a waste of time and is likely to get you killed. Once you get that 2v1, you need to move fast. Most people will peek you once you kill their teammate, and that is when you need to avoid their first shot and take a mental note of all the enemy positions you see. But, when do you start walking? The answer to that is very simple. Just before you are within ear-shot of the closest common hiding spot. Using de_inferno as an example, say the bomb has been planted in A site and you are rotating over from Middle. You would first run around to Banana, check the car for AWPers, and run up until you can be heard from behind Sandbags. Walk just before they can hear you, check the spot, and avoid the basket lid on the ground at all costs. As soon as you take a shot, somebody sees you, or you hit that basket lid, run. As for how you know where to start walking at, there really is no trick. Just use experience, or practice with a teammate. But, if at all possible, try to practice with somebody who has a good headset or a good soundcard, it won't do you much good to try it with somebody who starts hearing footsteps within five feet of their position. Movement While Firing Stationary targets are much easier to hit versus a moving one. They always have and always will be. Strafing is a very good technique to help you to avoid being hit while in a firefight, and can prove invaluable when it comes down to a pistol vs an assault rifle. It is for this reason that I do not recommend crouching down while shooting. It will make you more accurate, but it will make you a very easy target to hit. Not only can you not move, but you also are taking a system of spread out hitboxes, the head being the smallest and most difficult spot to hit, and cramping them together so that if somebody doesn't hit you in the head, they will destroy your torso, it also makes dinks much more likely. So, first get out of the habit of crouching and shooting. You can just practice firing standing up or if you are really having difficulty, unbind your crouch button for a short while. This can be done by going into your options menu, the keyboard tab, hilighting the crouch command, and clicking the 'Clear Key' button. First, the easiest way to practice strafing between shots is to buy a Desert Eagle and play in maps that are close to mid range. Maps like cs_office and de_dust2 are good pub maps to practice in, and de_tuscan, cpl_mill, and de_nuke are good league maps to practice this in. The best way that I have seen to move with a pistol, specifically the Desert Eagle, is to make very small strafes from side to side while firing. Being as random as you can with the distance also helps as it prevents the enemy from being able to predict where you will be next. This is especially effective against headshot oriented players. Next, the automatic weapons, specifically the M4A1 and the AK47. These weapons are very quick killers and are more than capable of ending a firefight with one burst. While firing at another player with these from mid to long range, strafing is key. However, unlike when using a pistol, these strafes are generally going to be longer and more drawn out, this is done to give you time to let your recoil level out so your next burst will be accurate. Once again, though, be sure to not make your strafes too regulated. Stop at random and fire, you do not need to be completely leveled out before you can fire again, and firing at random intervals will confuse your enemy as well. It is very important, however, that your bursts are accurate and that you can kill your enemy quick. While strafing does make you harder to hit, it is far from impossible. It is primarily to prevent them from being able to get a headshot on you, so the longer you take, the more body shots they will get on you, leaving you weaker and weaker. AWPing is also movement oriented, but it is not as key as it is for rifles. While using the AWP, your movements will be much like that of pistol strafing, you do not have to wait long between shots and therefore your movements can be shorter and more random. Just be sure to not take too long when taking your shot, the key is to have the enemy firing at you when you are moving so they are more likely to miss and to have them moving when you are about to fire. It will decrease their chances of hitting you, it will make them fire faster to try and kill you before you shoot, and it will keep them from shooting at you when you are standing still. Peeking Peeking spots get you killed, a lot. Primarily because many people do not know when to peek out effectively and when they do, they do it very wrong. Knowing when to peek out is generally pretty easy to figure out: Do: If you both have rifles and you have high health. If you have an AWP and they have a rifle. Don't: If you both have rifles and you have low health. If you have a rifle and they have an AWP. I have seen many people lose very important rounds in league matches simply because they expose themselves in the wrong situation. Another rule about peeking is to not do it if you do not have to. You can always try to fall back to a different location and hide somewhere, which gives you the upper hand in the fact that they do not know where you are anymore. But, assuming you are either in a good situation to or it is necessary to, always randomize your peeks. One of the easiest ways to kill somebody is to be able to time exactly when they will expose themselves and simply prefire them in the head. Do not fall into a rhythm. As soon as you do, they will time you and be able to kill you before you can even get around the corner. Also be sure to never show too much of your body. You should only show as much of yourself as you need in order to see them. If that requires that you show your entire body, wait for them to get at a better angle. Many times in Counter-Strike, you can angle yourself so that they can only see the side of your shoulder, but you can see their entire body. This will give you a huge advantage over your enemy. This concludes the movement section of my CS:S guide. Once again, thank you for reading and if you have any further questions, feel free to ask me in either a comment or PM. Comments are always welcome and appreciated as well. By:exerticus

Exerticus' CS:S Guide: Binds Hey, Exerticus here. I have seen some Counter-Strike guides here and, while they are not bad, I feel they rely too heavily on game and system tweaks. While these are not bad to use, they can only take you so far. So, I'll be going over a few tricks that I have learned in my seasons of CEVO Main that, in my experience, have helped to make me a much better player. Binds Binds are a key part of Counter-Strike, they will help you to access weapons faster, buy faster, and can even make bunnyhopping easier and more convenient without having to script. Yes, there are binds in the Keyboard section of the options menu, but those are merely for the core elements of gameplay. They do not include quick switches or buy keys. Probably the most important binds I have are quick switches. They enable me to quickly take out weapons and not have to wait for my mousewheel to scroll through my inventory. Another trick is that they allow you to switch to your weapon much faster after throwing a grenade to help reduce the time in which you are vulnerable after throwing a grenade. If you do not know how to bind a key to a command, it is very simple. All you do is type, bind "key" "command", and hit enter. For instance: bind "h" "buy weapon_hegrenade" Just remember that it is important to place quotations around the command, otherwise it will only read the command as the first word, which can make the bind not work. A quick clarification, with all of the examples I am going to show you, they must be entered in the in-game console, your config.cfg, or autoexec.cfg files in order to work. Quick Switches Now, I use the arrow keys and so the bind examples might be a bit strange, but you can easily change them to fit your own setup. I have a bind for every weapon stationed around the arrow keys so that I never have to stop moving in order to switch. A few examples of my quick switches are as follows: bind "del" "slot1" - This allows me to switch to my primary weapon, no matter what weapon it is. There is no need to make a bind to switch to an M4/AK or MP5, all that does is waste space. bind "pgup" "slot2" - The same as the one above, but it will always switch to your pistol. bind "home" "use weapon_c4" - This is a very usefull one that most people do not think about. How many times have you been stuck in the bombsite, lost in your inventory trying to find the C4? Now that you have it bound, you can have it out quickly each and every time you want to plant. bind "end" "use weapon_flashbang" - This bind is also another very usefull one that allows you to switch instantly to a flashbang, which is important for counter-flashing while you are blind. Rather than guessing what you have out by using the mousewheel, you will know you have your flashbang out even if you are blind. Combining quick-switches is also important. I mentioned earlier that you can use them to reduce the vulnerability time after throwing a grenade, and you can. You can do this by binding a key to slot1 and the moment after throwing a grenade, press the key you have bound to slot1 and you will pull your primary weapon out instantly after throwing it rather than waiting for the throwing animation to finish. So if you have 'q' bound to 'slot1' then right after you see the grenade in the air, press 'q'. You will have to practice with this a little bit, though, otherwise you could end up switching to your primary before throwing the grenade, which will make you look stupid and can get you killed aswell. Buy Binds Buy binds are not as important in league play as they are in pubs due to how freezetime tends to be much shorter in pubs than with popular lo3 configs. But, they are convenient sometimes and can help clear up time to listen to strats or to get a quick start in pubs with zero-second freeztimes. Making a buy bind is much like making a quick-switch, but can be a bit more complex for additional function. The way that you set up a buy bind is like so: bind "key" "buy weapon_weapon" So, using the example from the beginning of the guide, if I want to bind 'h' to buy a frag grenade, I would type: bind "h" "buy weapon_hegrenade" The names of the weapons are generally easy to figure out, but for your convenience, I've put together a list of all the weapon names. Please note that there are a few items in which you do not need to type 'weapon_' before the item. These names are also used for quick-switches: HE Grenade: weapon_hegrenade Flashbang: weapon_flashbang Smoke Grenade: weapon_smokegrenade Glock: weapon_glock P228: weapon_p228 Desert Eagle: weapon_deagle Fiveseven: weapon_fiveseven Berettas: weapon_elite M3: weapon_m3 XM1014: weapon_xm1014 TMP: weapon_tmp Mac-10: weapon_mac10 UMP: weapon_ump45 MP5: weapon_mp5navy P90: weapon_p90 Galil: weapon_galil AK-47: weapon_ak47 M4A1: weapon_m4a1 Aug: weapon_aug SG552: weapon_sg552 M249: weapon_m249 Scout: weapon_scout AWP: weapon_awp SG550: weapon_sg550 G3SG1: weapon_G3SG1 Knife: weapon_knife Kevlar Vest: vest Vest and Helmet: vesthelm Defuse Kit: eq_defuser Bomb: weapon_c4 Now that we have the weapon names, let's move on to another part of buy scripts, multi-buying. This is when you bind one key to buy multiple items. I usually have these set to the function keys, so I will use those in my examples. So, let's say you want to bind your 'F1' key to buy an M4 or an AK as well as a defuse kit. You would type: bind "F1" "buy weapon_m4a1; buy weapon_ak47; buy eq_defuser" Notice how I separate each command with a semi-colon. This will tell the game that you are ending one command and starting another. I prefer to set all of my primary weapon keys to buy a defuse kit as well, this will keep you from forgetting to buy one. Alias Binds This is probably about as complex as you will get with binds. Don't worry, though, it is very easy. In my examples of why you should create binds, I included the reason that they can make bunnhopping more convenient without having to script. They can, and I'll show you how. If you are like me, even though you have quick-switches bound all over the place, you still might like to use your mousewheel to scroll through your inventory every once in a while, be it for comfort reasons in switching to your pistol, maybe you are still transitioning over to using quick-switches, or maybe you just don't care about what I said about them. Despite this, you want to learn, or want to be able, to bunnyhop efficiently without the use of a script. Most people will tell you that you can really only legitimatly bunnyhop well by binding your mousewheel to jump and really, that is for the most part true. But, if you don't want to give up your ability to scroll through your inventory with the mousewheel, what can you do? The most flexible solution that I have found, is to make a bind that allows you to switch the mouswheel's function quickly from jumping to weapon scrolling. How do you do this? By using a function called an alias. An alias is essentially, you creating a command name for a list of combined commands. You form an alias like so: alias "name" "command1; command2; command3; etc." In our current situation, we would need to form two aliases. One that would bind the mousewheel to jump and a second to bind it to inventory scrolling. Let's start by making the inventory scrolling alias. I'll call it 'gun'. alias "gun" "bind mwheelup invprev; bind mwheeldown invnext" Easy, right? Now, we'll make the one that binds the mousewheel to jump. I'll call it 'bhop'. alias "bhop" "bind mwheeldown +jump; bind mwheelup gun" This has made rolling the mouswheel downwards cause our character to jump in-game. This is very useful for bunnyhopping because it greatly increases the a-beep-t of times you hit the jump key, increasing the chance that you will jump at the right time and bounce as opposed to trying to hit a key once at that exact moment. But, notice how I bound mousewheel up to our first alias. This will make it so that if you scroll the mouswheel up, you will instantly bind it back to inventory scrolling. So, if you have your pistol out and are bunnyhopping and somebody suddenly comes around a corner, assuming you do not have your quick-switches memorized yet, all you do is scroll upwards twice and your primary weapon will be drawn. Don't forget to bind your new alias to a key, however. You do this just like you do for any other bind. Let's say we want to bind our bunnyhop alias to the page down key: bind "pgdn" "bhop" That is all I have for binding. I hope that this information has been helpful to you and that it will help improve your in-game scores. There will be more guides of mine to come, so keep an eye out for them. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to post them in the comments section below or PM them. I'll be more than happy to explain things further to you and comments/thanks/ are always welcome. By:exerticus

Good Strategy: Going into a match or scrim you need to have a good game plan. I would suggest having a solid pistol round strategy, 4-6 gun round strategies, 1-2 Save/Eco round strategies, and 1 anti eco round strategy. By having all of these strategies well practiced, your team will be ready for every single round of the Terrorist side of the match. Also, try not to make your strategies too specific and make sure you leave some room for the unexpected to happen. Adaptation is a big part to winning rounds on the terrorist side of Counter-Strike. Solid Leader: Your in game leader plays a huge role in your success on the T side. It is important that when you get to match time, your team isn't calling strategies by commity. Your team needs 1 player to be calling strats and directing the team. This will help your team to be on the same page. One big mistake I have seen is that teams will be indecisive and have 2 or 3 players trying to call a strat at the beginning of the round. This will lead to confusion and will result in the players on your team either being confused or running different strats. Your ingame leader needs to be someone who can be in control, both when winning and when losing. He needs to know when it is time to get on someone's back and when it is time to be relaxed. Using he grenades, flashes bangs, and smoke grenades: Using the grenades in Counter-Strike on the Terrorist side should be a little bit different than how you use these on the Counter-Terrorist side. The HE, to start, can be used to kill or to clear good CT camping spots on the map. For example, if their is a spot on the map that is real tough to clear with guns, you may want to try a grenade stack on that camping spot to help clear the spot. Flash grenades can be used to either help you take a choke point or help you protect the planted bomb in the bomb site. When you are moving to take a bomb site or to get past a choke point, your team should use multiple flashes in different spots to help clear the bomb site/choke point before your team moves in. One tip when using flashes to help protect a planted bomb is to spread out the flashes you have left. Most of your teams flashes will be gone before the bomb has been planted. You should try to spread your remaining flashes out to delay the counter terrorist as long as possible. Smoke grenades play a huge role on the Terrorist side of the map. I would suggest that your team buys at least 3 smoke grenades when you are on a buy round. Their are a few keys to using a smoke grenade. First, use them to help block a counter terrorist awp from being able to see your team at certain places around the map. Second, don't place the smokes in places that your team may get lost in the smoke. You want to throw your smoke towards the counter terrorist, not right in front of your team. Good Timing and Team Work: Timing and team work are a key to the game of Counter-Strike in general, but their are a few ways this specifically relates to the Terrorist side of the map. If you are running a split strategy on a bombsite, your goal should be to try to get the CTs looking in multiple directions at your team. Try to time your strats to get this to happen. Also, when your team decides to move on a choke point or bombsite, move together. One big mistake I have seen is that a team goes one by one into a choke *Good Timing and Team Work: Timing and team work are a key to the game of Counter-Strike in general, but their are a few ways this specifically relates to the Terrorist side of the map. If you are running a split strategy on a bomb site, your goal should be to try to get the counter terrorist looking in multiple directions at your team. Try to time your strategies to get this to happen. Also, when your team decides to move on a choke point or bomb site, move together. One big mistake I have seen is that a team goes one by one into a choke point and then dies one by one. Setup Crossfires When the bomb is planted: When the bomb is planted, the goal is to delay the CTs as long as possible. This means that you are trying to hide from the counter terrorist and trying to make the counter terrorist chase and search for you if possible. If your team has more than 1 player left, you should try to set up a crossfire so you can cover each other without having to expose yourself too much. The counter terrorist are going to try to clear camping spots, such as areas behind boxes/crates and other objects. You should try to get yourself into a position in which you will see the CT a split second before he can see your teammate. Your teammate should try to do the same for you. If you can get this setup, it will make it a lot of tougher on the counter terrorist to clear those common camping spots in the bomb site. Don't become too awp heavy and know your roles: At most your team should have 1-2 awps on the Terrorist side of the map. This should be done for a few reasons. The first reason is that having more than 2 awps can really hurt your teams economy since awps are very expensive. The second reason is that the Terrorist have to take choke points or bomb sites, whereas the counter terrorist just sit back and wait for the Terrorist to attack. The awp is not that great of a weapon when you get to the point where you need to take a choke point or bomb site. I would recommend, that for most maps, that your team has only 1 awper, and that this awper is the same player all the time. By having the same player be the awp, it will help prevent confusion and it will also allow for awper to get good at being the awper. Also, most good teams can run some T side strategies with no awps. This is good because the AK is much cheaper than the awp and can allow for your team to buy when your team may not be loaded with money. Know the money system and try to predict the CT save/economy rounds: If you win the pistol round, their is a very good chance the counter terrorist will be saving for the next 2 rounds. You should have a special setup for these 2 rounds since the counter terrorist may try to rush your team or they may try to stack a bomb site. Also, try to have a general idea of the money system and if you think the other team may be saving, you may want to sit back for a few seconds just to make sure the counter terrorist aren't rushing you. Another important thing is that if the counter terrorist are saving, the first member on your team who spots this should let the whole team know. Knowing that the other team only has pistols can help your team avoid grenade stacks, rushes, and getting killed by a CT camping in a spot they wouldn't usually camp in.point and then dies one by one. Hey guys, ill be sharing some ideas i have about having scrims/clan wars on the map de_dust2 1. 1st Round. The first round is crucial to ANY team and this round is the must win round of the whole match as it can bring momentum to your team money wise and confidence wise. Terrorist Side 1st round: A good tactic that should be tried at least once is the fake strategy. how this works is, 2 people on your team buy a flash bang rest buy standard Armour. All 5 on your team go long and rush, someone must pre flash the corner in case someone of CT has pushed it. Once flashed you all pop around the corner and start firing bullet at whoever you see, if no one is there fire at the boxes inside A site, just to let the CT's know your there. In doing this, this will make the CT's rotate knowing that all 5 of you will be there. Thats when the fake comes into play, 1 person must stay in pit at long and other 4 go back. Now that you have fallen, the CT's will know you have tried to fake AT THIS STAGE. Now 4 of the terrorist split, 2 go T spawn way to outside dark with the bomb, the other 2 stay at the top of mid near the tree. Make sure you dont get spotted, the person in the pit will catch the CT's off guard because now they will be pushing because they know you've fallen, once they start pushing the guy at pit can pick them off as they come by. The people outside dark make there way into dark while the people at mid have to be ready to flash mid and bust it. Once the people at mid call "flashing mid rushing now" the people at b must rush with them, this creates the 2 on 1 at mid. The CT holding mid MUST DIE ! its 2 on 1!! if you cant kill him, Ur a dud xD. Once he dies the people inside B SITE will be distracted by the 2 @ mid, then the 2 in dark rush B and then the 2 at mid rush B site from ct spawn side which makes them sandwiched, this grants the T's easy access to the site. The person on long may make his way down long through ct and anal the people coming through. Secure the site make sure nothing is inside, plant bomb and setup for the defuse if they get on it. This tactic is a REALLY good one but it can be hard to pull off if one of you get picked off early. Now you must go over it and dry run this strat as it must be performed withing 1:45 sec i think it is but its a very short period to all of this stuff off so you must like go into a server with your team and practice your pre flashes and ur rushing as a team skills Counter Terrorist 1st round. counter terrorist is the easier side for first round and is less tactical and more of aim/skill/smart play. But this doesn't mean you work as an individual and play for yourself, that is what happens to most team they have a player like that and want to be on top all the time and make the best shots all the time. CT still needs A LOT of teamwork. Holding A site: In my opinion A is the harder site to hold because there is 3 ways to get into that site, which is Stairs/Short, Long way and CT spawn. Short is the most difficult and id recommend 2 people play short for the first round. Its a very small area and you need people with good aim there as well. Short holds: Anti Flash Hold: This is a good hold for later rounds in the match when using a rifle, not so good for pistol but can still be very effective as there will be 2 of you there, you can bait one another by 1 person peaking on the ramp of the site and one standing in the corner right of the ramp, once they spot the guy on the ramp there focus will be on him. There will be nades flying flashes maybe smokes. So be prepared to take hits the guy on the ramp. You can still be flashed here but most people use there flashes at the stairs expecting you to be there. Once they are pushing trying to kill the guy at the ramp, the person in the corner pops out and gets as many kills as possible. Keep in mind you still have your backup from the guy at long. Goblin Hold: on the very far right corner of the site there is a set of round boxes and there open, stand on them and hug the wall, you are unseen there because when your on top of the boxes and hugging the wall in front of you there is a piece of wall sticking out and you hide behind it. Now the other person with you at short gos up close and sits near the stairs or he can even push. He trys to get as many kills he can if they go short way. If he dies it tell the T's that 1 down short, they make there up the stairs and look into site and see no one they might think no one is @ short or in A anymore, thats when u come out the goblin spot and bum rape there faces with you pistol. Long Hold: There is 3 main holds for long way, im not going to go into detail because i don't have much time to do them atm :< i might edit it later but i dunno, here they are anyway. In Site Hold: It speaks for itself, you basically play long way from inside A site at the boxes or on the floor near ct spawn, just be ready to flash/nade it and ask for backup if there coming because hold long 1st round can be a VERY difficult task. Keep in mind you got the 2 people at short for back up as well. Big Box Hold: You can hold behind the big box at long way and wait until you hear someone approaching you then throw out a flash pop out and cap em'. Pit Hold: Holding from pit takes balls because most the time T's jump in there flash in there nade in there etc. some you need 2 have some good ways to flash and bounce them off walls them come out and pull a chuck Norris and kill all them LoL . Pit hold is the most difficult hold out of ALL A site holds. I prefer to not to pick that spot anyway (:. Holding Middle: Middle is probably the most important hold out of all because you have access to view short from middle and tell your teammates that they are coming so they can prepare, but if they kill you at mid that leave B site ct spawn and A site open to be backdoor'd from many ways. Tree Hold: This hold is my favourite because the T's only see half your body plus your behind a tree which decreased damage taken but you get a limited view of terrorists aswell. You stand up on the bricks and crouch not fully behind the tree but half behind it so its a less chance of dying. But you have to have good aim to hold from this position. CT spawn hold: This is a defensive hold if your not very confident in playing mid, this hold allows you to freely flash over the boxes nade etc and pop out and kill the T's that are coming through mid. Disadvantage of this hold is they can sneak through past you and kill the people @ b if you don't hold it right, and they can easily flash you as well as you can flash them easily. Outside B hold: Outside B hold is probably the most common used spot if your on the back foot and they are dominating you at mid, you simply stand up on the boxes outside b and look over them @ mid. Holding B site: Holding B site takes confidence because it is the most commonly rushed site and is the easiest to access by flashing etc. But don't let this get to you head because as easy as it is for them to get it, it is as easy to kill them. Platform Hold: Platform hold is my preferred holding position as there is many places on the platform to hold from. You can hold it behind the big box and hide and wait for them to gain access into the site and then pop out and head shot. You can play from behind the 1st set of bricks or even the 2nd set of bricks but the 2nd set of bricks is hard because it is further away and that means less damage and the target is smaller. Back of Site Hold: You can hold behind the bricks at the back of site and nade flash from there as there is more things to hide behind so its easy to throw then hide then pop out. You can play from behind all the boxes at the very back left of the site behind them all. But it ALWAYS checked i repeat IT IS ALWAYS CHECKED. so its not such a good idea but just a suggestion. Gay spot: This is a funny spot its prob the 2nd most checked but a good place to hold because once the t's enter the site there out in the open which give you more of a opportunity to kill them. You can either stand behind the car in the site or behind the small box beside the car. Thanks 4 reading guys, i hope for some feed back in future and i hope you have learnt something from this ! and im sorry for any grammar errors i have made in the making of this guide feel free to point them so i can fix them out, i just dont have the time atm to read over it and fix them up ^_^ Credits:Takuya

Hello, in this guide I will be teaching you how to get CS:S on a Mac and make it fast. Looking through the index/content will make it easier for you to use this guide, this will probably only take 5 mins of your time (not including installation time) INDEX/CONTENT: 1.0. First Program to Install 2.0. Installing CS:S with CD 2.1. Installing CS:S without CD (steam) 3.0. Running Steam (and updating/downloading games) 4.0. Making CS:S go faster & Making Console appear (still through steam) (Necessary for making game faster and for step 5.0) 5.0. Making CS:S go faster (through .cfg) 6.0 Running the game START 1.0, First Program To Install: Go to http://www.codeweavers.com/products/ CodeWeavers and click on the try now button, then wait for the download to complete. After the download is finished, drag crossover to your applications (like any other download eg: skype) and open it. 2.0, Installing CS:S with CD: After opening crossover, open Macintosh HD and open up the CD (look to the left and double click CS:S). Then go back to crossover and click on CrossOver Software Installer, when the window opens up click on Install Unsupported Software. After that window opens up, DO NOT CLOSE IT OR CLICK CONTINUE!!! Open the CS:S CD window and double click steam.msi and crossover should pop up then press continue and install it like normal. 2.1, Installing CS:S without CD (steam): Go to http://store.steampowered.com/ and download steam (do not run it, it will not work) after the download is complete, go back to crossover and click on CrossOver Software Installer, when the window opens up click on Install Unsupported Software. After that window opens up, DO NOT CLOSE IT OR CLICK CONTINUE!!! Open Macintosh HD (not inside the program) and go to downloads, then double click on the steam.msi icon and crossover should pop up then press continue and install it like normal. 3.0, Running steam: If steam didn't automatically load, open crossover then in the bar all the way at the top of the screen, click on programs, steam and then just click on the steam icon. If you downloaded without the CD, now would be the time to download/buy CS:S from steam. 4.0, Making CS:S go faster & Making Console appear (still through steam): This one is easy, right click on CS:S, properties and set launch options. When the screen opens, paste: -novid +mat_hdr_level 0 -console -heapsize 1048576 into the screen. Then click on ok, the screen should close, then click on close (not steam, the smaller window). 5.0, Making CS:S go faster (through cfg): Open the crossover screen and click on Manage Bottles. When it opens, click on steam, then click on advanced, then on Open C: Drive in Finder. When the window opens, click on Drive_C, Program Files, Steam, SteamApps, Your Account Name, counter-strike source, cstrike and finally on cfg. If you’ve just started playing CS then I suggest that you spend time orienting yourself with each of the many various weapons. Everyone has their particular favorite(s) weapons. Since you’ll undoubtedly not always have enough money to buy the gun you desire, it is best that you are proficient with one from each category: Pistols – Shotguns – Sub Machine Guns – Rifles – Para. If you ask me, not buying a gun and saving for another round is a waste. With only a pistol, one does not stand a chance against an automatic rifle. Although, with the right timing and the right aim you can pull off good shots with a desert eagle which is a very cheap to buy and can be VERY VERY deadly with 1 shot to the head is instant death. If you continue to do this, your deaths will pile up and you kills will be few and far between. Say for instance you wait two rounds for money to purchase a Para and only produce one frag. For these three rounds your Kdr [Kill-to-Death] Ratio would be around 1 which is not good. As a result, buy what you can do is, when you can and fight with what you have. Ex = a SMG round + a SMG round + a SMG round > a Pistol round + a Pistol round + a Para Round. While the expensive weapons are fun, I don’t believe dying constantly and having bad statistics is enjoyable. Practice with all the weapons in a LAN game and find one of each category that suits your skills. Each of the guns has a different recoil and damage, and playing with an assortment will confuse a player’s aim. Personally I use the USP or Glock as my Pistol, MP-5 as my SMG, and either a M4A1 or AK-47 as my rifle. Depending on the map, I buy one over the other. If a map contains open spaces I’ll likely go with a Rifle over a SMG because of its long range power and accuracy. Although it will take many shots for a kill, the MP5’s low recoil makes it accurate in close quarters. Once you’ve chosen your favorite(s): practice, practice, practice. Knowing a gun’s accuracy and tendencies will help you in combat.

What ports do I need to open to run a server? In order to run a CS 1.6 server through Steam you need to open the following ports: 1200 UDP 27000 - 27015 UDP 27030 - 27039 TCP Note: If your server is running on a port other than the default 27015, you will need to open that one aswell. How do I set my servers region? With steam/ cs1.6, a new feature was intorduced where you can filter servers by region (ex useast, west). This will determine where your server will show up, or in some cases, if it will show up. Have you set sv_region in your server.cfg? eastcoast - sv_region 0 westcoast - sv_region 1 south america - sv_region 2 europe - sv_region 3 asia - sv_region 4 australia - sv_region 5 middle east - sv_region 6 africa - sv_region 7 world - sv_region 255 Why do I keep getting a ticket expired message? This just means you need to re-enter your login information so that Steam can authenticate you. Usually logging out of steam and logging back in will fix the problem. Your map [?????.bsp] differs from the servers This error occurs when your map does not match the map the server is running (different version, etc). You should never have official (stock) maps in your maps folder. The only maps you should have are custom maps, so check that you do not have official maps in your maps directory. Sometimes this error can also occur when there is a Steam update released and either you or the server is out of date. Check that your Steam client has been updated if a recent update was released. If you want to stop from getting this error so you're able to connect to the server, simple delete the map that is giving you the error from your maps folder, then connect to the server. This will allow you to download the same version of the map the server is running. Failed to load dialog file Resource/UI/ClassMenu.res There is no official response from Valve why so many users receive this message but we've found a solution that has worked for those that have tried it: Open notepad and add the following: "Resource/UI/ClassMenu.res" { }Save the file as Classmenu.res (note the file extension, ends in .res and not .res.txt). Place this file into the resource\UI\ directory for the game you are having problems with, example, for CS 1.6 you should end up with a similar path: C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\<account>\counter-strike\cstrike\resource\UI\Classmenu.res if you do not have a resource or UI directory, simply create them. This may or may not work for you, but give it a try.

Ever wondered or wanted to bunnyhop in counter-strike like how them professionals do? No? LEAVE NOW AND DON'T COME BACK. If the answer was "yes", then this is exactly what you need. This is basically a cute little, fluent script that I coded for Counter-Strike that lets you bunny hop by just holding down the CTRL + SPACEBAR. It's completely coded in AHK and you can just go through, and compile the script yourself if you don't trust me. Download the .EXE http://www.4shared.com/file/QVw9vhcN/Arcanes_Bhop_Script_CS.html?
