UnrealED -> TexPanner/TexRotator/TexOscillator/and stuff, and put it as Specular at your shader.

Go experiment a bit, it's not very complicated :)

Official is worse than you think, imho:

Lot of bots

Takes long time to get to the PvP-interesting levels (where you can join Territory wars and sieges and matter at all :) )

 

But I do think as well L2 dying; not because I think it's bad, I think still it's the most beautiful and original MMO in the field, but because people get bored of it somehow and go play Aion and stuff.

 

So I agree with everything Intrepid said two pages ago (saves me typing work ^^)

 

On the other hand: I think that if the next Chronicles are going to rock, they will be back :)

PS: Epilogue is just a break for NCsoft so they have time to develop on the real new Chronicles.

Have you tested your model inside 3ds max by adding the UV unwrap modifier and putting the texture on it?

 

I think the issue is with your model. Also perhaps you could show a screen from your model in 3ds max.

one question is duel box allowed to lvl up a buffer?

I think it is yes; but some buffs don't take long enough anyway, like the third profession COV etc. (30 min isn't long I guess), so then you can better have a buffer as main char :)

1) In your server: go to jail (I don't know where it is, and too lazy to check atm sorry :) )

2) Check map

4) Find out which tile it is, and see what code it is

5) Go to your Lineage II/textures folder and look for the .utx with the code (T_11_10 for example)

6) Decrypt etc. ah the rest you know :P

What do the quotes mean in the armorgrp.dat lines?

I am guessing it has to do with the texture of the lower part being assigned to the upper part as well; just try again with this fileEdit :)

 

It could also be because the model isn't exported well; but I assume you just use an existing armor(?)

What the point to add customs while the majority of poeple don't like them

So I ask you WHY you don't like them?!

 

To farm them so you won't get bored ? That's bullshit, make S-Grade then to be farmed hard, do ppl won't "get bored".

If you READ what I wrote, or just get some sense, you can see there is only one thing 'bullshit', and that is your comment.

 

Firstly: I was saying I support less/no farm. Secondly: I just gave arguments for aspects of customs, and at which I have mentioned NOTHING about farming, and thus implying NOTHING that they should be farmed or should take a long boring time to get, or one of the other things you gave your made-up, fictional, fantasy, Cr4zYy, Star-Wars arguments against.

 

PS: Sorry for flame, but if you are writing that the ideas of using customs and the things I suggest are 'bullshit' without giving reasonable arguments, you know it's on.

 

@ Cloud; I was in sort of your situation you are in now; I have tried Cabal but it was boring as well imho.

LauQ, the thing is that most people are looking for an instant PVP server, which means, no x30-x100, where lvl 80 may take an hour or more. People are not looking for long farm (not even an hour of continuous farming) whatever it is for.

Did I say there is? or that it needs to be? I also didn't say low rate right? I'm all for quick access to PvP and less farming. But there is always some farm right? and if it's for default S-grade armor or(/and) for other original/new/good looking/alternative armors is up to us now. And even if you want to take it extreme without farming or with barely farming, customs are always interesting.

 

Have you even thought of other possibilities? Let's have a look at one of mine: for A-grade there are like a couple of different sets (Majestic, Nightmare, Dark Crystal, Tallum, Apella etc.), so, you could for example add more alternatives for S-grade armor, just to have more choice each with their own benefits and such. And so there are many ways to use customs in an interesting way; without HAVING to farm more or HAVING it causing imbalance (if it's tested well enough), as the prejudice thoughts assume.

 

I think because there are barely people thinking of those kind of solutions, opportunities on gameplay variation and such, that Lineage 2 private servers are decreasing in population; everyone has played all that has to be played for 4 years; they want new: special things that can be interesting and refreshing, to make it worthwhile going through it again, trying how these modifications affect the regular gameplay. I M H O.

i think that as LauQ said customs armor/weapon or whatever custom a server has,if is made with BRAIN(Maxtor and some other guys here got that) it wont unbalance the server..why i like customs?because i think is one of the most difference between retail and private servers and because most times are nicer than normal armors/weapons..at least u can make custom armors,weapons but that affect only pvp..what about that?anyway my kind of server would be

What do you people don't like about Custom items?

 

Do you think they are more ugly? (which often isn't the case, as it's only some changes to original armors, which look fine I guess)

 

Do you think they will cause imbalance? (which is nothing more than a prejudice, as if admins intentionally make them outbalanced for some unknown reason, it's sort of an insult to them to assume that) and which also doesn't have to be the case; as you can also just use 'visual' customs like accessories and such. And besides: there are many servers outbalanced without custom items; so it's not like outbalance <--> custom items, if yknow what I mean...

 

Anyway; I like the suggestion of ExtremeDwarf. A big higher rate wouldn't be so bad either :)

Try renaming your itemname-e.dat to something else and then run l2.exe to check if there's the problem. If it's still the same problem; check if you have done nothing wrong when saving the textures as .dds, and inside Unreal(Runtime)Editor.

 

If none of this helps; could you post the armorgrp.dat line that you inserted so we can see if there is a problem there? Also mention which Chronicle you are using (Interlude, CT2.3 (Final))

Yes, fileedit in this pack (...) is a big fake, ddf files are not update for ct2.3+, it's a ddf for ct2.3

Sorry I was a bit late with testing; indeed it's a fake: the FileEdit from CT2.3 can also open CT2.4 files, except from these:

It's normally that Weapongrp, skillgrp and npcgrp does decrypted ?

and some others.

Getting some inspiration from your suggestions and getting some indication of how many of you want to change something about lineage 2 to make it more interesting and what to change.

 

Perhaps eventually I will make shares for them or a server. Also helpful for other people that are thinking of making a server with interesting things.

 

Now just waiting for more people to give their opinions and suggestions :)

• More Team play in the farm system?

• Less repetitive with huge variety of monsters with different attributes and skills?
  
• More strategic requirement in order to farm quicker; so like more interaction between Quests and Farming (and Skills)?

It probably has occurred to most of you that these sections are just breeding nests (Dutch expression) for Spammers; all they need to say is:

"Ey thanks for the share, keep up" or one of the 20.000 different variations on that.

• They aren't giving their real opinion

• 99% of the cases they haven't even downloaded it and tried it

---

• Sometimes they post this kind of replies in like 7 topics within 5 minutes

• It is really annoying for the general users that just want to start a discussion about the share

• Old topics get bumped up all the time

---

• Some shares get like 5-8 pages of spam, so people that want to look for real reactions and user feedback need to search their ass off

• Of course, there are mods that take care of the most; but sometimes the spammers can post according to the rules, but still be spamming and annoying; SO SOMETHING HAS TO CHANGE

I can see that shares you have adapted you aren't really responsible for the creation, so opinions on it you can't really do something with, but in that case you can just immediately lock it, cause now it's nothing more than a Spam farm.

PS: Of course Mods can keep going on punishing/deleting/locking/banning, but you can also think of changing the rules, because the spammers not always violate them, but still be annoying...

Is Sub-Stack possible for OFF? (I mean; I don't know sh!t about OFF ^^)

If yes; +1 for me on that with high rates pvp, good arena stuff, castle sieges and raids

 

Bored of low rates, where you NEED to use walker stuff, and bored of high rates where there is nothin' to do and no interesting aspect like Sub-Stack :) (btw: also bored from Interlude, but I will try with Sub-Stack)
