Yes and no. After so many years grinding has become tedious and some players keep playing only because they can bot. This is especially true because of server closures, re-openings and wipes. Others still enjoy the gameplay and others have stopped playing because of botting. Of course, another part of the community which bots is involved in rmt and does not play as much for enjoyment.

In my experience, GMs in private servers who care eventually ban botters and keep gameplay at healthy levels. The problem is that L2 is an old game and that the newer versions that NCSoft created did not become popular. Also, private servers did not do a good job at maintaining themselves. TLDR: Some have left because of botting while others have stayed because of botting. People who enjoy playing the game can keep enjoying it.

1) I'm pretty sure that Maxtor will care the moment you start disturbing his forum. You are right, you don't get re-banned here. Punishments are pretty loose.

2) Since you claim that you are studying Quantum Mechanics (probably a small chapter in one of your courses of w/e you're studying) you should know that there are people with anime avatars on github that commit quantum code for quantum computers. Furthermore, generally speaking anime fans have a wider perception of the world and are more open minded than normies. 1) Artistic and art in general are abstract concepts. They are not zeroes and ones. There are paintings which do not portray anything recognizable and which were randomly painted, but are called "art" and they sell for thousands or even millions of dollars. You confuse subjectivity with objectivity. What you think about a subject is your opinion and does not necessarily mean that it is commonly accepted. Try again.

2) In case you didn't know there are many different genres of anime just like movies and TV shows. There are animation series that have nothing to do with what you described. Different plots, different art style (small/big/no boobs small/big eyes, etc...). Not to mention the meanings and life lessons that you can conceive by watching Japanese animation. It only works on smart people though. On the contrary, if you take a look at movies everything stays the same. Just by knowing the leading actor's name you know who is going to die and how the movie will end. It's America. Process food, process people.

From what I conceive, if trash talking was bannable you would have been banned long ago. When a client reports you, as a seller you have to disprove the client's claims with valid proofs. The person who decides or comments on your case is not to be held accountable. With your logic maybe we should ban Maxtor.

I don't see why this "solution" is a good idea, because proxies, being proxies, will add delay to client-server exchanges. Even with geolocation the proxy will still have to transfer data to the gameserver which adds to the aforementioned delay. It is worth to use this system only with very good machines and geolocation connections.

This system becomes even more unstable with ddos. It makes sense to redirect players to healthy proxies, however, the attacker can also redirect his/her bad traffic, especially if you transfer his/her character to the new target. Imagine players with loading screens popping up every 5 minutes during siege. At least in 2008 we knew when a server was down, whilst the siege was cancelled!

Therefore, it can be inferred that this "solution" may sound and be better than others from a technical standpoint, but the players may still suffer, whilst it is to be used with expensive equipment. To me, it makes more sense to rent a good server of a big company while having hundreds of anti-ddos servers protecting me than integrate this "solution". More code = more problems. I would only use this with many many proxies on a server with 5k+ active players under certain conditions.

PS: The OP is neither advertising nor selling, yet he/she discusses a system that we have not seen. It seems to me that he/she reveals more and more potential vulnerabilities of that "solution".

There are many tutorials in this forum regarding compiling and they are fine. The only things that change are versions. Instead of old eclipse, java, etc... you will have to download the new ones. Also, some projects have switched to MariaDB instead of MySql, but there's no big difference in setting it up.

No problem. From a conservative perspective you will be able to handle at least 500 players with 60 Mbps. When, for example, certain actions happen in-game the server and the client exchange more KB/s. If you have 2 players walking together the server sends info about each player to them. If 1 more player comes, the server will have to broadcast the first two players' info to the third player, but also the info of the third player to each of the first two players. Imagine if those three players teleport at the same time to e.g. a Raid Boss area. The server apart from player info (IDs, coordinates, etc...) will also have to send other packets as well. Sometimes one player will require 5 KB/s at other times 20 KB/s, not to mention that the server also has to download player info and requests, so it's not that simple!

Assuming no one is ddosing you ~1k players. Each player requires a few KB/s. The server just exchanges bytes or in other words text with the clients. 10 KB/s on average per player means 7500 KB's (60Mbps)  / 10 = 750 players, but that's the no delay theory. If you add some hundred milliseconds delay you could handle ~1500 players.

I changed access level in "Accounts" table from Login Server db, but I failed to notice that there was also access level located in Characters table from Game Server db. One of the most classic of traps.

Edit: I tried pandora, it worked! Now I have another question. I gave myself access level in sql db, but I can't use gm/admin commands. I tried ///hero, //gm, //admin, //gmspeed... Assuming that I can log in and play there is no incompatibility issue, but maybe this is the client's fault?

Oh, I see. Unfortunately I do not have access to the forums and I don't see any files for download. The fact that there is a share post containing systems of all chronicles except classic is beyond me! How can this be?!

First of all I am curious about the versions of Classic. I saw Mobius' repository and it reads "L2J_Mobius_Classic_2.4_SecretOfEmpire", whilst some servers display it like this: "Secret Of Empire 2.9". So, the versions are different and that confuses me a lot. Is there a particular reason for that difference? Which version is the true version?

However, what I am really after is a clean, unhooked system that is compatible with Mobius' L2J_Mobius_Classic_2.4_SecretOfEmpire source. Does anyone know where can I find one? Any help appreciated.

I want to increase the max zoom limit so I edited user.ini with file edit, however I get critical error and more specifically an access violation on l2.bin. If I use a version header other than 413 I get the error "files are corrupted". Is there any way to make this work? The workaround with a .bat file seems to be a good idea but it works for l2.ini and I guess that I have to start L2 with NCsoft launcher. Any help appreciated. Thanks.
