@DeathSpank287: The too many servers situation would not be a problem is people had a brain,simple, after seeing 100 equal servers (IT mostly), same features,balblabla, people should ignore them, period. If people ignored them, after a while such servers would not open anymore. As for the rest, well, it depends on the players themselves, players have to learn, many of them need to gain maturity, and think before speaking. You are absolutely right on what you're saying, but I'm willing to bet my house that things will not change. About the players crying and making bad advertisement, well, its a moderator's job to prevent that and punish those who do it. E.g. I saw a couple of good servers in MxC's advertisement zone, but they just get flooded by players complaining, most of those complaints aren't even true. What happens then is readers just assume its a crappy server based on those comments, and a good server is lost.

I would gladly help Stalone, I myself will have to answer those questions soon when my server is up. However I cannot supply a lot of info since, I believe nothing has changed. Hopzone, GameSites200,etc are still the leaders.

Well I know this isn't what you want to read, but its the truth: - The method to obtain the maximum possible performance is simple: scale down your settings to the lowest possible; If you are referring to visual lag, meaning, when there are many players together, sorry, but even the best machine wont handle it. The problem isn't entirely caused by graphics, but the amount of packets being received,processed and displayed for all those players.

Unbelievable how people make a simple change and automatically call it a "system". Anyway even though this is rather old, someone needs to learn the basics of programming schemas.

@dony - The idea is interesting, however, why not simply join Genesis since its everything you are referring to, except its quality is assured since its made by the best in business.

People help how they can, the fact that people's answers wasn't what you expected them to be isn't a legitimate reason to be rude. Nobody here is forced to help, people do it because they are kind, so the least you can do, is be kind in return.

One of the common reasons for this is firewalls interpreting the "ServerList" (Legacy: http://svn.l2jfree.com/l2jfree/trunk/l2jfree-login/src/main/java/com/l2jfree/loginserver/serverpackets/ServerList.java ; Genesis: http://svn.l2jfree.com/l2jfree/branches/genesis/l2jfree-login/src/main/java/com/l2jfree/loginserver/network/client/packets/sendable/ServerList.java) packet thinking it is an attack. Make sure that is not the problem, tends to occur with ESET programs.
