  1. With I could have said it better.

Unfinished train of thought built on prehistoric idea of perfectando servando.

This topic needs to burn and end up in Ron Jeremy's arm pit.

We shouldn't be hating on the OP, since all he wanted to do is to help future servers with some of his ideas, even if they weren't as helpful as he wanted them to be. I'm sure he tried his best, it's also not easy to see whats on the other side of the forest, as long as the trees are in the way. (incompetent people spamming incompetent stuff, misleading the community and standing inbetween real knowledge and the brain-dead stuff people are used to spam all over L2 and it's forums.)

There are a few people out there who know a lot about L2 and are also able to think outside the box, but they are lacking resources. Either financially or the needed technical knowledge. If there would be some way to give these people the opportunity to contribute somewhere...

  2. 1:Dont put customs weapons/armors/tattos etc u will make a full unbalance server.

Putting custom stuff doesn't mean the game will be unbalanced. It's mostly the 12 years old "developers" who found something on the internet and add it because it looks cool. Custom can be very well balanced if you spend time on it.

2:Ok its a high rate server must be easy but no 10 min farm and u are Full++.

A High Rate Server doesn't HAVE to be easy. Its all  preferences and settings which most people use. Lazy people.

3:Buff slots must be max 38  because server will be more balance.

No. Buff slots don't determine how balanced a server is. I can create a single buff with +54756245234 stats and allow only 1 buff slot. You as a developer should know what buffs you allow your players to get and what these buffs give.

4:About Ls put three types of them so rate will be something like this : 5%/10%/15%

Like you would ever buy anything else than top grade LS... It's not just "put this and put that into the game", you also need something built around it, not just brainlessly add stuff. Can you please tell me exactly why you want lifestones with lower chances if you want an easy high rate server, where most people get their LS from the shop or by killing T-rexes for the top LS?

5:Dont put boss jewels at shops killing an rb is so nice and have much pvp!

Most RB kills happen while other people are not around. A clan which gets the gear first and the numbers to kill a raid, controls the raid spawning time. If anything, then either put upgraded "raid boss jewels" or custom jewels or take measures to let everyone know when a raid will spawn.

6:Donation system be fair for other normal players dont give active skills just have donate for 2++ more for weapons/armor/jewels for them

Donation shouldn't give power to players. It should only make life easier for donators.

7:About colour sytem dont make a circus server in 50 pvp blue name 100 yellow its bad!!

I agree with that, somebody started adding colors after a certain PvP and now every server has it... BE MORE UNIQUE PEOPLE!

8:Dont give items to friends/girlfriends/family members etc .....

This should be obvious, if the person wants to run a server and its also common sense that corruption = bad.

9:Put some TvTs with good prices and make them to be every 3 hours or something like this.

"Or something like this". I like how you are too lazy to end your own thought process properly but you expect others to create the perfect server. Bad servers exist because people think similar... "or something like this".

10:Be nice with players and dont ban them if they had bad behaviour just ban if they use bugs.

Ban should never be an option unless the player does something game-breaking or wants to harm the server.

11:I think farm system should based on adena.

I disagree and agree with you at the same time. Adena as a main currency in insane a-beep-ts is boring as hell. It exists for several years already. There should be unique currencies on a unique server. But on the other hand if there is a well thought-out system around adena it could bring life into an old boring system.

12:Dont make 10 farm areas u just need a safe zone for newbies and a big farm/pvp zone and they must have same drops so it will be fair for all.

Safe zone is never a good idea. Why would you join a PvP server if you can't or don't want to protect yourself? There is a game for this called "Hello Kitty Online". Or www.weareholdingyourhands.com for players who can't make a step in L2 without crying their hearts out.

    13:xp should be x400-600

Depends on how the leveling works, there are so many different possiblities than just setting an XP rate.

14:dont put clan managers /reputation coin and other shits like this .

15:clan system it would be nice to be retail.

16:raidbosses respawn should be every 6 hours or something like this.

Again... "or something like this". Are you giving suggestions or simply guessing?

17:enchant system must be little easy like normal/bless/crystall - 70%/85%/100% bless must be easy to get.

18:Every players should have only ONE skill active or passive.

Or no augment skills at all?

19:Try to make classes the most balance u can.

And this can only happen if you are willing to spend time on balance. And please, DO THAT! The easiest way to balance classes out is to call a friend, log in with 2 characters which are used the most in PvP and simply even them out and the rest of the classes accordingly. If you think things are getting out of hand in terms of defense or damage, you can always nerf buffs, passives, etc...

  3. Obviously you have to fight with a heavy language barrier, I cannot find anything which relates to something like "I'm looking for someone who can host this pack from his private PC". You are trying to educate the wrong person. It's like you start teaching your own teacher but you don't have anywhere near the knowledge he has. Can we stop this here? You are making a fool out of yourself.

  4. Stop being a retard, I'm not looking for a kiddo with a PC, I'm looking for someone who is willing to host it on a proper machine.

Jesus, people these days. I bet you haven't even read the description, you think I would put that much work into a 5 people home-made server? Not sure if you are simply stupid or just trying to increase your post count. Gtfo.

  5. i have been in the same situation of waiting a verywell advertised highly customised and promising server before, and it went completely wrong.what i care most of is how long have you been testing it (be honest) and how many u had testing it (be honest for this one too.).i would really like to help you with all the tests you want though, if,of course, u need help

I would really appreciate it! I have opened a "looking for testers/dev" topic before but only 3 people wanted to help, 1 of them asked for money, 1 simply deleted me after we talked and another guy who is about the same level as me so he couldn't help much. No testers yet. :(

After all the servers I saw here, no wonder you can't trust when I say we have tested everything.

    Add me on my MSN:

PS.: being honest is always good.

  6. We do have a site, but there are still no informations about anything, only a template (http://www.l2force.hostage.hu/). This is basicly a preview about the server for players to know what to expect.

I thought about creating a short description about every class, describing how they are supposed to be played and what addition do they give to a party.

We know them in and out, so if there would be any inbalances found by players, we will surely know where and how we have to nerf/boost the classes to make the person who plays it not to ragequit and still make most of the people happy.

Discuss guys, ask questions, I am here to answer them.

  7. Hello to everyone who is reading this topic!

I'm really bad at holding a speech and I would really like to write something else than "how great our server will be and how we are the best of the best, etc...", so let me try this my way. :)

We have been working on a custom freya high rate server for a while, which might be completely different than the rest, you might be used to. We basicly took Hellbound Island, turned it into a kind of story-line based farming/PvP zone/raid zone area, which will (lets hope) make you forget about the bad aspects of PvE.

To make PvE more enjoyable, we thought about ways to make it better:

    - Various currencies which are exchangeable and tradeable

    - rare and hidden monsters with a higher respawn time and better drops

    - The choice of a rather luck based or 100% drop chance farm (whichever you prefer more, obviously the mobs with a 100% chance are harder to kill.)

    - A few weaker raid bosses with about 1 hour respawn time for newbies.

    - Drop distribution is damage done based. Who deals more damage overall, takes the drops.

    - A small story-line which keeps the player interested throughout the PvE phase.

    - a walker NPC with own monologues, who will eventually show you the hidden monsters while guiding you through Hellbound.

    - Hall of Suffering, an instance (planning to open more instances) which gives everyone in the party a PvE cloak (increases PvE damage according to the cloak's stage level) as a reward.

    - Teleportation skills, to different parts of Hellbound. You can get them by killing raids, farming ingredients.

    - An Epic raid on Hellbound, with its own "trash" (monsters which patrol on the way to the raid, making it harder for another party to interrupt your raiding) and zone effects around the raid, which can help you to kill it.

This is only on Hellbound at the moment, in which you are able to farm your Vorpal armor set and your Legendary weapon, with PvP accessories. If people will like this kind of server, we want to take the whole thing over to another place, with a similar role, but the story would be more intense and more RPG-like.

Now what have we done for PvP?

This might be the hardest question to answer. Before you start acting all fed up and denying by reading the word "custom", please keep reading and let me try to convince you.

We have really spent a lot of time creating custom classes with skills which suit them the best, boosting and nerfing other ones, adding custom armor/weapon/accessory stats.

Now at this point, I would like you to take a big breath, chill down and read carefully and throw your mistrust away, because it has been tested already with a bigger audience and they kinda liked it. We are aware of the fact, that most of the custom servers totally mess up by adding this kind of stuff, but we are pretty confident and trust in ourselves.

    - 95% of the debuffs have a 100% chance to work (INCREASED COOLDOWN, REDUCED DURATION). we have looked at all of the CCs (crowd control effects like stun, root, slow, etc..) carefully, designed them for the certain classes who have them and tried to recreate certain situations to make sure they don't destroy the gameplay. Most of the CCs last only a few seconds (1-3 seconds min/max for certain stuns, 2-5 seconds min/max for certain roots, 1-2 seconds for fear, etc...). We have put a lot of work into this, so please try to understand that this isn't anything bad we have done here. You might eventually enjoy it a lot more than the retail debuff/cc system. This one is more reliable and still makes use of most of the skills you have forgotten long time ago. We have tried to design the whole PvP system to be less random and require a lot more skill instead of luck.

    - Removed reflects from items/buffs

    - Removed elemental resistance effects from buffs, items, skills. We still have added some to a few skills and items.

    - no attributes (adding attributes would only create chaos and and unnecessarily increased damage)

    - no skill enchants (due to the edited skill powers, durations, the skill enchants would only mess up things)

    - nerfed vampiric effects

    - Most of the bleed effects reduce healing by 50%.

    - we made a huge nerf to tanks' shield def power and rate, as well as reduced their PvP damage. They will remain as a disabler class, stunlocking, agroing, debuffing targets, being a great addition to party PvP.

    - magic crit cap reduced to 10%, magic crit damage reduced to 2,5x. (can be increased later with items)

    - physical crit chance cap is 100% (1000), but it cannot be achieved, only with very late-game items.

    - no buff limit

    - buffs won't disappear after death and are infinite (no time limit). Obviously, there are certain party buffs which have a buff time, but those are mostly short to avoid dualbox buffers.

    - lots of edited skills. You can read their effects by looking at the skill descriptions below their name.

    - 2 different PvP areas with respawn points there. If you die on Hellbound, you respawn inside the PvP area. You receive PvP tokens if you get a kill.

    - Flood protection on the PvP coin system to avoid PvP farming.

    - Each Legendary weapon has a skill added to it which give an even cooler twist to PvPs.

    - Except Elven Elder, and the 3 summoner classes, we have boosted classes which are mostly not played on high rate servers. (Example: Prophets wear light armor and pole-arm. We added warp and blink, and remade prophecy of fire into a self-buff which increases offensive/defensive stats. Prophets have a chance on every hit to increase their own attack speed and a chance to slow down enemies. Due to their high natural Mdef and the mobility they received through these skills, they are exceptional anti-mage fighters.)

    - Reworked support classes, like Overlords, Warcryers (and probably Elven Elders later on if needed).

    - Forgotten skills can be bought via participation in events and collecting PvP coins. (every forgotten skill has been edited in reuse times, durations, powers.)

    - Removed cancel, mage/warrior bane, steal divinity. We didn't like skills which give you an unfair advantage.

    - Critical damage has been drastically reduced to make normal hit-crit hit ratio more realistic, no more 50 normal damage and 3k crit.

    - Increased overall HP and speed of classes to make PvP last longer and be more fast-paced.

This is by far not every change we have made to make the PvP experience to be something different. After reading all this, you might ask yourself: "does this really work as good as they say?"

Well as you know, there is only one way to find out.

Okay, this is it. My temporary preview topic. I would like to hear you guys' opinions and the results of your observations. What do you think? Would you play here? If no, why? Do you have any suggestions?

I would like to beg everyone who decides to post in this topic. Don't go immature mode, if you post here, be objective and constructive.

    Thanks in advance.

  8. You don't copy l2pride but hmm which server. Remind me which one used first this place as farming zone soultakerr.png

Also, I can see your armorgrp.dat contains my server's .dat lines but it seems you were afraid to add my .utx & .ukx files to your updater haven't you ? Anyway, I have made up my final decision now about Primezero he does know a shit about l2 that's all and besides, SirRoyal is right on everything. If you like my work guys request it and stop beeing leechers of my files & ideas. It would be greatly appreciated. But imagine when a server like l2brave tries to copy l2pride and when a server like l2goal tries to copy mine all I can see in the end is a bad bad failure.

    Take care

And now delete this post of yours just like you did with mine when I tried to criticise your server. Thanks.

If you don't want to, then just open your topic so I can tell you my opinion about your server too. As easy as that. Eye for an Eye.

  9. For me  balance on l2 doesn't exist, if you nerf a class another one will be OP, also I don't get what you mean with "balance" word.

Balance in my eyes means that you are trying to find the golden middle way between classes. Wether its done by changing item stats, skill reuse/duration times or even adding special effects to them. The easiest way to do this is to use your general L2 knowledge about which class beats which one and how you would like them to be compared to the other ones. There is no perfect balance, because there are no 2 equal players as far as skill is concerned. But setting the expectations high and trying to make classes "balanced" for the better players might be the best solution. A class is always as strong, as it's user is skilled or you as an admin allow it to be.

If by L2 you mean Lineage 2 official settings, then I have to say you are perfectly right. Crowd control effects last way too long and are too random as far as the chances go. Always the class who lands the debuff first wins, because those are just way too OP. Lineage 2's skills need to be revamped, debuffs, stuns, anchors and basicly everything need to last shorter and also need to be more reliable. The class designers seem that they just wanted to give people more power without limitations, not even caring to put some thoughts behind those. But the way I'm going right now is what I said above, "A class is always as strong, as it's user is skilled or you as an admin allow it to be."

Lineage2, as a game itself is capable of having a good balance. The skills are given for that, it needs a lot of reworking, but its do-able. You have everything you need to set up a good balance, all you need is to spend time. You can limit everything, which means you can pretty much calculate the damage a class will deal to another one. This game only lacks reliable skills, thats all.

    New thoughts:

_There is something else which came to my mind while reading your reply "I don't get what you mean by balance" again and again several times.

Balance can be seen from many different aspects. There are classes which excel at 1vs1 while others are awesome in a mass PvP. While watching some retail party vs party PvPs, all I saw was daggers cruising and trying to hunt down the robe and light classes. While trying to plan the concept of a balance, you have to think on different levels, as well as in 1v1, 1v2, party vs party, siege and PvE. Creating balance is a complex thing, and maybe the reason you cannot see good balance at all is because there are many inexperienced administrators who are trying to win players by playing with the word "balance". If you say balance, its not only the intention in trying to create a balance, it means you are done, you are ready to present it to your players and that you have thoughts behind every class and you have tested them in almost every possible situation, skill by skill, hit by hit. There are just too many factors which influence this word. Vampiric effects, crits, skill crits, reflect, resistances, player skill/knowledge/reaction time, knowing how to squeeze out the most damage possible at a certain time. I admire WoW's so called balance. The PvP is very controlled and just by taking the time to imagine things you can predict the outcome after every skill usage. WoW has only a few random factors which influence PvP, where as L2 is full of them. Its basicly a random game, starting by pressing a button. You can never predict the outcome unless someone has a great advantage early on, either by gear/buffs, etc.

If someone wants to create balance, he has to remove as many random factors as possible.

I don't want to advertise my own server, but that is exactly what I have done and it works exceptionally well.

Okay, thats all for tonight, I think I said everything I wanted to say. Good luck to everyone! :9

Ps: If I went totally off-topic and this board was not meant to discuss this, its fine ,just delete my reply please.

  10. Exactly my thoughts Leluche. Also don't forget that there is no such thing as bad balance, only lazy server owners who don't take the time or are not intelligent enough to customize some skills without overextending and -beep-ing up everything.

And when we are already at it, can anyone answer me the question "why players get scared when they see a server has custom stats?". Is it because the negative experiences they had with poorly "balanced" items and overpowered single items which may cause extreme gaps between player - player?
