[Help] Class balancing

Question

Posted

I have a question about class balancing. When I add custom hidden skills, how do I actually hide them? I mean, when you add it to the .xml and the skill tree does it show a black square in your skills? Can someone give me a full example of a balancing passive? I mean, the whole entry.

I have no idea how to make the skill. I don't know xml and I don't know how one looks like. I've seen the skill xmls but I don't know how to write my own. So that's why I need an example of such a skill in order to make my own ones.

For example:

<skill id="20005" levels="1" name="Adventurer Balance">
<set name="power" val="0.0"/>
 <set name="target" val="TARGET_SELF"/>
 <set name="skillType" val="BUFF"/>
 <set name="operateType" val="OP_PASSIVE"/>
 <set name="castRange" val="-1"/>
 <set name="effectRange" val="-1"/>
 <for>
   <mul order="0x30" stat="cAtk" val="0.945"/>
   <sub order="0x40" stat="maxHp" val="420"/>
 </for>
</skill>

The power should be always set to 0.0

Target_self, because you need the effect to yourself..

BUFF - doesn't need a comment...

OP_Passive - because if it's active the player will have to use the skill so it can take effect..

cast and effect range - of course -1, if you set it to more the people near you will get effects too

And now for the bonus part..

   <mul order="0x30" stat="cAtk" val="0.945"/>
   <sub order="0x40" stat="maxHp" val="420"/>

The first one means that it will decrease the critical damage with 5,5% (if you want to work with %'s you have to set it to mul and order to 0x30)

The second one will decrease the maximum HP with 420 (if you want to decrease with an exact amount set it to sub and order to 0x40)

And if you want to add more max MP for example with 500 set it to add and order 0x40

So if you want to increase/decrease with percents (%) use mul, order 0x30

If you want to increase with an exact amount use add, order 0x40

If you want to decrease with an exact amount use sub, order 0x40

So if you want to add a new bonus stat for example "P.Attack" with 5% you will have to write a new line:

   <mul order="0x30" stat="pAtk" val="1.05"/>

And the skill will look like this:

<skill id="20005" levels="1" name="Adventurer Balance">
<set name="power" val="0.0"/>
 <set name="target" val="TARGET_SELF"/>
 <set name="skillType" val="BUFF"/>
 <set name="operateType" val="OP_PASSIVE"/>
 <set name="castRange" val="-1"/>
 <set name="effectRange" val="-1"/>
 <for>
   <mul order="0x30" stat="cAtk" val="0.945"/>
   <sub order="0x40" stat="maxHp" val="420"/>
   <mul order="0x30" stat="pAtk" val="1.05"/>
 </for>
</skill>

And if you want to increase it's for example "P.Def" with 400 you should add a new line like that:

   <add order="0x40" stat="pDef" val="400"/>

And the skill will look like this:

<skill id="20005" levels="1" name="Adventurer Balance">
<set name="power" val="0.0"/>
 <set name="target" val="TARGET_SELF"/>
 <set name="skillType" val="BUFF"/>
 <set name="operateType" val="OP_PASSIVE"/>
 <set name="castRange" val="-1"/>
 <set name="effectRange" val="-1"/>
 <for>
   <mul order="0x30" stat="cAtk" val="0.945"/>
   <sub order="0x40" stat="maxHp" val="420"/>
   <mul order="0x30" stat="pAtk" val="1.05"/>
   <add order="0x40" stat="pDef" val="400"/>
 </for>

And now this skill will decrease the critical damage with 5,5%, decrease the max HP with 420, increase the p.atk with 5% and increase the p.def with 400.

I think now you will understand it. If you have any questions, feel free to ask :)

You go in passive skill? If op_passive, the skill is in Passive side..

L2jfree, you see the black icon

I know lol. And in passives I don't see a black icon. O.O

Tried on L2J Gracia pt.2 and on L2J Interlude and I don't see..

Maybe this is only for L2JFree? I don't know.. :D

baiumbg, try and tell me if you see an icon. :D

Have u try to move your mouse on the empty case in Passive side? ^^'

in l2jfree, we don't see the icon, but when the mouse is on a 'empty' case, i see the skill name etc... ^^'

So if you learn this skill and you skill others skills with icon you will have a hole :P

    • WHEN SAYING “YES” IS A MISTAKE Not every project is worth taking on, even if the client is ready to pay. Sometimes refusing isn’t about losing money — it’s about protecting your reputation and time. Over the years, we’ve learned to quickly spot the cases that are almost guaranteed to turn into problems. Here are the most common situations where we turn down work: ▪ The client wants it “like everyone else’s,” but with lots of custom changes and on a minimal budget ▪ There are no proper source materials, yet the deadlines are already burning and everything is needed “yesterday” ▪ Constant changes to requirements after the work has already started ▪ A task with a very low chance of success, but very high expectations ▪ The client isn’t willing to discuss the process and sees us as just an executor - A good result almost always starts when both sides have an honest understanding of the risks and real possibilities of the project. If you’re currently discussing a project and unsure whether to move forward — write to us. We’ll honestly and directly tell you whether it’s worth taking on or if it’s better to look for another solution. › TG: @mustang_service_ms ( https:// t.me/ mustang_service_ms ) › Channel: Mustang Service ( https:// t.me/ +JPpJCETg-xM1NjNl ) #documents #drawing #photoshop #refuse #cases
    • The price reflects the value of the project, not just the source files. This is a complete, production-ready server that has already proven itself over the course of a full year, with a loyal player base and no major issues requiring ongoing development. To put it into perspective, the asking price is approximately what the server generated in one year. You're not buying an unfinished pack that still needs months of work, you're buying a polished, fully tested, revenue-proven project that's ready to go online. Considering that, I believe €35000 is a fair price.
    • How we can explain the amount? Is something special there in?
