n00bie question

Hello everyone,

I was checking this topic http://www.maxcheaters.com/forum/index.php?topic=183329.0

and, well I have some question about this: "Past this l2.ini to ur system folder --> open L2fileedit for CT2.4 and change the ip of the server to ur server ip (this one i am sharing is for l2dubai)"

1st of all, I know it sounds dumb, but erm what is fileedit and where the hell I can get it?

2nd how can i change the ip of the server to "my" server (how can I even say which is the IP to my server)?

 

Would be much appreciated if someone would respond to such a n00bie as me,

3. Edit Your l2.ini (from You CT2.4 system folder) and change "ServerAddr=" to ServerAddr=Your IP".

4. Save changes.

But there's a little problem, although I did everything as you said. You see, when I press "log in'' it shows me ''you are currently being logged it, please wait'' and stays there forever, left for like 20 mins without any changes... :|

Any suggestions how to fix this problem?

Well yea, I did follow your guide step by step.. q_q

And tell me where are my first post I told You to configured *.properties server files ? You should do that at the beginning and I can bet that You didnt do it.

 

BTW: search at forum how to config *.properties server files. Its not a section fot this kind of question...But anyway: if Your server is standing at You PC, then You will connect into it with localhost (127.0.0.1), so Your InternalHostName = *. For other players You have to change ExternalHostName = YourIP. Thats why You need to have 2 system folders:

1. with modded l2.ini for Your ExternalIP - this one is for players;

2. with modded l2.ini for localhost (127.0.0.1) - this one is for You.

 

If Your server is at dedicated server, You will connect into it with ExternalIP as well, but if You server is at Your PC (at Your HDD) then you are connecting by localhost.

 

Do it and do it now, because You will not able to connect into Your server :]
