I would like to request a guide on how to create your own animations and textures for those animations.

For instance, I would like to make armors from npc's. Some of them are pretty cool.. but say like ranku armor..

Or just a guide on how to make a ranku mask or gloves or something to give me an idea of how to do it.

also if possible: how to make multiple animations in one ukx.

Thank you for reading.

You really want to learn both to make the model in 3D and UVW -> texture it? Or take armors from npc's and put them on players? (with maybe retexture?)

For now I would love just to be able to turn an NPC into an armor. LauQ: Ok to pm you? Ill tell you exactly what i want to do.. I just don't know if its as simple as i think it is..

Ok well, I can only guide you a bit, the rest you'll need to find out yourself (if you'd decide to go on with it).

I have only tried it once to take armor from a mob and put it on a character (human fighter).

First of all, you'll need to get familiar with getting 3d models to L2, and working in 3ds max a bit, so here's a guide for that: http://www.maxcheaters.com/forum/index.php?topic=99061.0

Things you need:

- 3ds max

- ActorX plugin or md5 plugin, depends on how you export with umodel

- Gildor's patch (unfortunately, I suppose this is the biggest blockade: he wants 50$-100$ for it, and it is required to make .ukx files (model/animations unreal files) that are compatible for L2 (more info: http://www.gildor.org/)

- an ukx characters models (Fighter.ukx, Orc.ukx, etc.) and one of the mob you want (LineageMonstersX.ukx)

Steps:

1) Basically you take the model of your character, that has the correct bones and animations to fit to the in-game animations of that character. So you import it. I think you can start best with the chest (_u)

2) Then you import a mob's model. You delete all unnecessary parts for the part you are making (so if you work on the chest, you remove the mob's arms, legs, head etc.)

EDIT: You also need to remove ALL his bones (of the mob! not of the characters' model). (this can easily be done in the Schematic view, see my guide).

3) Then, what I do is, you scale the model of the mob (perhaps rotate, scale, change some vertices) so it seems to fit well on the characters model, you move it onto it, and then with the 'attach' function in the Editable Mesh menu (right side of the screen) you can attach the part of the mob to the part of the character, so it takes over the bones and the appropriate weights (the degree of animating response of the bones).

4) This step is the hardest; I call it: messing around. You need to remove the parts of the original characters armor, and on the skin modifier you need to edit the weights a bit. Just 'Save' your project often. You can test the animation by importing an animation (with ActorX plugin, .psa) so you can try if the weights and the bones are correct.

This last part is so hard, and annoying, and I don't actually know myself how to do it right, so you might want to research more in it, with guides about 3ds max (animations, rigging, bones, weights).

5) importing in Unreal2004 editor (with the patch), and save it as a custom .ukx.

And after all this work, then you have only 1 part of the armor for 1 of the 16 characters...

So, unless you are already very experienced with 3ds max, unreal, animations and everything above, I really recommend you not to start working on this :) But I also suck with it, so you might have better chances (especially with 3ds background).

You could also try contact Kali; he's not always very helpful cause he likes to keep things to himself, but he has made more of the armors from mobs, really impressive work (which he only sells, not shares, at least he used to...). Also 3lackheart and L2smod know a lot about it, but the same counts for them (they really want to keep the things for themselves).

Good luck! I hope I've helped and if there's anything just leave a message here.

BEAUTIFUL MAN!

Thats exactly I needed.. Ofc I will stick with it, I am at the point where..

Since I learned how to add customs.. I sought out all the most appealing armors to me.. Most one of a kind.. most impressive.. and now I need to add a new top set.. or 2.

Now having a difficult time finding an armor thats "worthy" as I have already added all the best armors I have ever seen so I must make it or them.. This is exactly what I needed,

an outline. I had these first 3-4 steps planned out and had already begun.. I cut the model into all parts already but forgot to scale.. then wrote my request.. xD Really I had no

idea what I was doing and wanted some basic idea.

Although A few more are worthy.. I may still add those..

Idk tyvm though SexyLauQ!
