Οh yeah,DragonHunter is coding an L2Server in C#

The project is opensource and it already has SVN & Timeline.

They are stuck a little bit at the NPC Server, but they are pretty quick in the development.

Give them a visit.

Avoid Java holes

Well i dont believe im expert enough in C# to have an opinion on "java vs C#", but even if what you say is true: Ya exactly, it will close the holes ...

... in about 5-6 years when its ready to be a public commercial server :)

How many of the L2J and fork developers know enough C# ? When l2j started, it was full of flaws and mistakes because the devs didnt have the experience needed for an application like this. As they kept going on, they improved their skills and improved the code. It still has some mistakes in it.

Now if you think there are enough l2j devs who are willing to take a new language, learn it, and recode everything from zero ... what can i say.

The project is guaranteed to fail 100%. You dont start a new application from scratch in a game that is in its decline phase.

I fully expect this will be like the original postpacific c# project, a 100% port of l2j to c# and then nothing else because of lack of willing developers...

The one thing l2j does have going for it, every high-schooler knows java, which admittedly is the reason for a lot of l2j's problems, but that's besides the point, they have a large developer base. C# doesn't, not in L2.
