Handy's Block Checker

The Gracia Final expansion brought a new game to Fantasy Island called Handy's Block Checker.

To get to the arena, from the Fantasy Isle Gatekeeper, turn yourself North until you see an area with a big golden Spade on a red building. This red building is the Handy's Block Checker Arena.

You will be greeted by the Game Manager 'Handy'.

Handy will tell you about the game and how you can participate.

To start, register at one of the the four Entrance Managers (one for each Arena). There needs to be at least 2 particpants on each side to start.

Once four players signed up, the game starts automatically (which makes me wonder how 6 people in total can join considering you can't join after it's started). You get put into a transformed state according to the color of the team you are on. The score and count down timer is listed at the top.

The idea of the game is to flip over the squares that are oposite of your color, using the skill called "Flip Block" (the one and only skill you can use at the time. By doing this, it turns into your color. The more squares that are your color, the better chances your team will become the winners.

The squares gives drops of "bond" and "landmine". I wasn't able to figure out what the bond did as it wasn't anything that seemed to go into your inventory. However, Landmine did appear in your inventory which allows you to use it before flipping a square which will give the other team a state of stun when they attempt to flip the same square (from what I can gather, it all happens so quickly ;)

In our case, the winners obtained 10 fantasy island coins, where the losers obtained 2, but this can vary depending on the amount of squares turned over by each individual. You can see what you can do with the coins.

Buffs disappear once you get transformed, but reappear after the transformed state wears off.[/b]

How to Win

* 1. Only the total number of flipped blocks per team is actively displayed during the match. To see how many blocks each player has turned, click on the mini-game icon located next to your mini-map. This icon is only active for the duration of the game.

* 2. The winning team is determined at the end of each match by tallying the team's individual scores. The team with the highest overall score will be declared the winner.

Rewards

* 1. Mini game participants cannot acquire experience points and SP.

* 2. The winning team receives Fantasy Isle Coins as a reward.

* 3. Individual ranks are calculated in the winning team, so different numbers of Fantasy Isle Coins are provided according to individual ranks.

* 4. If players get disconnected or go out of the arena during a game, no reward is given.

Exchange Fantasy Isle Coins for reward items through the Fantasy Isle Paddies NPC.

Kratei's Cube

The competition-type PvP hunting ground "Kratei's Cube" has been added.

You can teleport to the entrance of Kratei's Cube through NPC Paddies on Fantasy Isle.

Characters level 70 and above can register individually through the Kratei's Cube Entrance Manager.

There are 3 Kratei's Cube arenas set up by level range. Each arena can hold a maximum of 25 characters at a time. The level ranges are as follows:

* Level 70-75

* Level 76-79

* Level 80+

Characters who are chaotic, in possession of a cursed sword or currently in a party may not participate.

Kratei's Cube Rules

1. A Kratei's Cube match begins every 30 minutes from the top of the hour, and lasts for 20 minutes.

2. Once you have requested entry into Kratei's Cube (through the Entrance Manager), you will be moved into a waiting room 3 minutes before the match begins.

3. You can receive Kill Points through PvP and PvE inside Kratei's Cube. Even if a character is killed, there is no death penalty.

4. A character who is killed during a match is moved to the waiting room and can re-enter through the Kratei's Cube Match Manager.

5. Registration ends 3 minutes before each match.

6. The Entrance Manager makes periodic announcements, alerting players on how long they'll have to wait for the next match.

Rewards

1. At the end of a Kratei's Cube match, you will receive Experience, SP and Fantasy Isle coins.

2. The exact amount of your reward depends on the match results, the number of participants, individual ranking and cumulative result values.

3. You are ineligible to receive any reward if you score less than 10 Kill Points.

4. Fantasy Isle coins can be exchanged for various items through NPC Paddies of Fantasy Isle.

Leaving During a Match

You will be removed from the registration list and/or will be ineligible for any rewards for the following reasons:

1. If you request to participate in a match, enter the waiting room, and then cancel the match through the Kratei's Cube Match Manager and leave.

2. If you use a Scroll of Escape for a village, castle, hideout or fortress during a match.

3. If you die during a match and do not return through the Entrance Manager (meaning that you do not complete the match).

The Underground Coliseum

An Underground Coliseum where you can enjoy a new style of PvP (death match) has been added. You can travel to the Underground Coliseum free of charge via the Fantasy Isle teleport NPC and non-newbie town teleport NPCs.

Registering for the Games

You can register to participate in the games at any time, and as often as you like. There is no time restriction.

After you form a party consisting of at least seven members, the party leader can register for the games via the Arena Manager NPC, Coordinator Kuram.

The games occur in the order and frequency in which teams register for them. Only five teams can be registered at any given time.

About the Games

The games are death-match style and the winning team continues on to battle against the next team of contenders.

Before the party leader registers his or her team, the party leader and all party members must decide where their individual starting location will be when the battle begins by adjusting their order in the party window. The order directly affects where each member will begin the battle when they are teleported into the coliseum. Team members who are best at solo matches should be placed towards the top of the party member list.

coordinatorkuram.jpg

Once the game begins, a resurrection tower will appear in the coliseum. When a player is killed, he or she will join the match again near the resurrection tower.

If the resurrection tower is destroyed, you cannot automatically resurrect inside the coliseum; however, you can still resurrect inside the coliseum by using a resurrection skill or item.

Each match lasts for 10 minutes.

Win/Lose Conditions

Victory in a game is determined by the number of kills.

If the opposing team has the same kill count, then the team with fewer deaths is the victor.

If both teams have the exact same number of points, the first team to have registered for the game will be deemed the victor.

You can also win before the end of a match by destroying all of the opposing team's members.

Types of Coliseums

There are five arenas in total. Participation in each arena is based on level. Every party member must be within the level limits in order for the team to register successfully. The arena levels are as follows:

* Levels 40-49

* Levels 50-59

* Levels 60-69

* Levels 70-79

* No level limit game
