Custom Textures - Help needed

Recommended Posts

I've followed this guide here (somehow) but the adding part is way above me o.O

So my question is - how can I do that?

How can I get my custom textures into the game?

Any guide for a total noob that can only do recolors?

I attach my customly created utx'es.

The Eyes one is a retexture of female A Type dark elf face and the other one is Female Dark Elf Hair type F i believe.

Please Help! I wanna do more, like retexturing bw and other textures which colors I deeply hate but I can't even do this ! T.T

Thanks in advance

http://rapidshare.com/files/240116545/retextured.zip    - my files

Please please do tell me how can I add them and make it simple enough for a total laic.

P.S  They are made for Gracia, at least that was the assumption.

As i can see you are newbie! ... 1st read the Rules!

Then ... If you wanna Edit Textures read this Guide!

If you wanna make something animated Read this Guide!

And if you want some more infos, here is a New Guide!

The older method aint working since it's gracia and the second one, well the part when I add those things to armorgrp.dat is just too confusing and I don't even know how to start looking for the orginal name of the texture to replace it with mine. o.O

Plus despite all the pictures it's not that clear o.O

yes the old method work with all chronicles of L2 but the problem is all ppl only one modify TGA,DDS for import original UTX file and is not possible because UTX for GRACIA and latest chronicles are encrypted so you only do new UTX with UnrealEngine2 and done you have your texture edited for chronicle you want everything work`s fine you can see all my work editing textures i adapt textures interlude to GRACIA FINAL and vicevers

Ok, let me ask about something else then.

Is there a way to import my custom textures  of, for example, female elf Type A face changed and BW heavy armor changed, back into the FDarkElf.utx file?Because  this is the part that i need i guess.

So, You want to say, that if someone want to have his custom texture he need to create a NEW utx file ? We cant add modiffied dds, tgs files to oryginal Gracia textures like it was at Interslude client and older ?

So, now we need just to create NEW texture file and rename texture path in armorgrp and weapongrp, wright ?

is simple when you create a new UTX for example Draconic Bow Focus ID=7577 you get this line and copy in new notepad agasin do the same but with itemname-e ,xml and sql so you only change ID for new weapons and done you have new weapon ingame weithout problems is not easy this method anyway good luck ;)
