Blue space explosion

Using this thoroughly explained, detailed photoshop lesson, you will see how to create blue space explosion effect using some special photoshop tips and tricks. Let's start!

 

Step 1

 

I will start with a new document with a black background, and with the following size 350 x 350 pixels.

 

Step 2

 

Choose now FIlter > Render > Clouds.

 

Step 3

 

Duplicate now Your layer (CTRL + J) and choose Filter > Artistic > Plastic wrapr and make the adjustments as follow:

Step 4

 

Duplicate Your layer again (CTRL + J) and set the blending mode to Overlay.

Then, choose Layer > Merge Down.

 

Step 5

 

Duplicate the layer again and choose Edit > Transform > Flip horizontal. After that, set the blending mode to Pin Light.

Step 6

 

Duplicate now Your layer one more time (CTRL + J) and choose Edit > Transform > Flip vertical. After that, set the blending mode again to Pin Light.

Step 7

 

Choose now Layer > Merge Visible (Shift+Ctrl+E).

 

Step 8

 

Duplicate the layer and choose Filter > Artistic > Pain Daubs and make the adjustments as follow:

Step 9

 

Hit now CTRL+ALT+U and make the adjustments as follow:

Step 10

 

Put the blending mode on Hard Light and after that hit (Shift+Ctrl+E) - Merge Visible.

 

Step 11

 

Duplicate layer again (Ctrl+J) and go to Filter >Blur >Radial blur. After that, make the adjustments as follow:

Step 12

 

Hit now again CTRL+ALT+U and make the adjustments as follow:

Step 13

 

Choose now Filter > Sharpen > Smart Sharpen and make the adjustments as follow:

Step 14

 

Choose now again Filter >Blur >Radial blur and set the same settings.

 

Step 16

 

Put the blending mode on Lighten.

 

You should now have something like below.
