Nibelheim
When I try to connect to the server (AzureL2, Celes Server), its kind of slow in response compared to other L2 servers that I've played in, but I am still able to connect. My real problem is that when I try to play. When I connect w/ my character, I can play like 1-2 minutes normal w/o any lag. But then I get hit by some kinda of lag, but it's not lag. The reason I know it's not lag is because when I click outside of my client, and back into L2, it resumes the game again. For example, I'm playing L2 normally. Then everything just stops. I'm able to click and show the blue "!" on the floor, rotate my character, open my inventory menus, etc, but my character and everyone else doesn't moves in game. Now to fix this, I either have to wait like 30-60 seconds, or click outside of my client and back into it (for example, click into Windows Explorer, and then back into Lineage 2 client). I have: Windos XP SP2 Athlon XP 3200+ 1gb RAM 7600gt I don't think this is my ping, because I live in the same country of the server and I have like no delay when this isn't happening... So what is really going on? This is very annyoing Things I've trid: - Reinstall the game - Lower all settings EDIT: Could this possibly be packet loss or something? Thing is, I don't ever disconnect w/ this "lag". EDIT: So some more stuff I've tried: - Clearing some space on my HDD (I now have 16% free on my C drive). - Defragged my HDD. - Upgrading RAM to 2gb - Upgrade nVidia video driver and I'm still getting the "lag" problem. Maybe this isn't my computer and has to deal w/ my network? I don't think it's the server itself that lags because when I freeze, and then unfreeze, I see a lot of things that had already happened. For example, I saw a monster all alone that was in one spot before, and when I unfreeze, I see the monster dead w/ a player next to the body. Hilltop
apparently celes has been having a lot of lag issues with their server, with them even capping their server limit to 1k apparently. if you jump on irc #azurel2 you will see alot of other people with the same issue. Hmm, yeah I've read about those lag issues, but the thing is, this also happens in their Aerith and Nanaki server. So some more stuff I've tried: - Clearing some space on my HDD (I now have 16% free on my C drive). - Defragged my HDD. - Upgrading RAM to 2gb and I'm still getting the "lag" problem. Nibelheim
upgrade ur grapfic's card drivers? I just upgraded my NVidia Video Driver, but I still have the problem. I don't think it's my problem anymore.. Maybe it's packet loss or something? Anyone know how to fix that? I did another tracert auth.azurel2.com, here is what I got: 1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms dslrouter [192.168.1.1] 2 25 ms 25 ms 24 ms L100.PTLDOR-DSL-02.verizon-gni.net [71.111.48.1] 3 24 ms 25 ms 23 ms P1-1.PTLDOR-LCR-02.verizon-gni.net [130.81.34.82] 4 41 ms 42 ms 41 ms so-6-2-0-0.SJC01-BB-RTR1.verizon-gni.net [130.81.28.162] 5 44 ms 43 ms 44 ms 130.81.17.229 6 44 ms 44 ms 44 ms tge2-1.ar2.sjc1.us.nlayer.net [69.22.153.61] 7 45 ms 45 ms 96 ms ae0.cr1.sjc1.us.nlayer.net [69.22.143.129] 8 574 ms 46 ms 46 ms tge4-2.ar1.sfo1.us.nlayer.net [69.22.143.162] 9 61 ms 61 ms 61 ms tge1-1.ar1.slc1.us.nlayer.net [69.22.142.98] 10 95 ms 95 ms 95 ms xe-2-1-0.cr1.ord1.us.nlayer.net [69.22.142.101] 11 95 ms 94 ms 94 ms tge6-4.ar1.ord1.us.nlayer.net [69.31.111.134] 12 96 ms 95 ms 94 ms as32748.tge8-4-116.ar1.ord1.us.nlayer.net [69.31.111.34] 13 97 ms 96 ms 94 ms ip201.67-202-95.static.steadfast.net [67.202.95.201] I always get these weird large pings on the 8-10th line, does that mean anything?
