Help Nostalgy brings me back.. Feedback required!

Good afternoon everyone,

 

Short story:

 

Its been 12 years since last time I have properly played Lineage 2 myself and 13 years since I had my own private L2J PVP server which at that time looked pretty playlable to me! (Over 100 daily players - great success at that time to me!).

During this long life gap I became a software developer and recently got into position where I got a lot of free time so I have decided why not to get into L2J (maybe L2OFF) server ownership and development where I could bring some old enthusiasts to have a good time and keep myself developing/learning other some things on top of that!

 

Last chronicle I played was Interlude and I know much changed since than!

To slightly get back into it I have logged into a few more popular servers to see around, how things still look in Interlude.

 

I see not much changed, people are still playing and enjoying the game! However, most servers genuinely feel exactly the same? Active Anticheat, various menu functions like ".offline", ".menu", improved Alt+B community boards, same not seen before Skins or "Suits" that make your character look differently and so on..

So I have started to think is everyone using the same server files? What files most people use? Is everyone working on their own from scratch? Buying them from trusted sellers here or developers? 

 

Just trying to get some information where I should dip into first and where I could find reasonable start with sources files so I would be able to get my hands dirty.

I'm not thinking about investing huge amount of money as whatever comes out of this as a project - will be purely maintained by myself and by own my earned money. I have no intentions of bringing donate or any pay 2 win atmosphere - just pure good old time for people who wants to have a good time and something to keep on my work portfolio.

 

Any guides, notes, feedback would be highly appreciated!

 

Edit: Looking at Interlude as I have no clue what newer chronicles got to so don't want to get involved too deep!
