Steps after setting up L2J server

Question

Posted (edited)

hi everyone,

i took a shot a build an L2J server using the instructions here https://www.l2jserver.com/debian.html

The instructions are not correct always but eventually i have the server running properly.

I am stuck now as to which client I should use. If i understood correctly l2j supports the high five chronicle. So i went on and downloaded the high five client from the available link in here https://www.l2jsunrise.com/docs/ and also tried the one from here.

I dont know if that is the correct client I should have downloaded but it does not work. As soon as it loads the login screen an error is coming up saying "gameguard files are damaged, error code 153". The same thing happens with both cases.

I saw this post

and tried to use the patched system for high five but if i replace the whole system file another error comes up about a missing dll if i replace only the dsetup.dll it does not start at all.

Any ideas ? there are a lot of irrelevant and outdated information around which make it much harder to figure out next steps.

thanks in advance

o thank you, i used that system file and it worked. Though i am still not sure why the default one was not working as in the documentation of l2j it was mentioned that it should work with the default client

thank you 😄

    • Hey. I've been looking all over the internet about this but not being able to find anything about it. I have edited systemmsg using MSG editor changing colors etc. But now I want to change and add some of the sounds as well. But I need the sound IDs for each audiofile and I dont know how to find them. Ive found all the audio files but I cant use the filename as someone said in a thread here, it only seem to take numbers. I have looked into every guide about systemmsg on this website and no one mention anything about the sound, just that its possible to add sound but nothing more. So, do anyone know how to find these sound IDs? Preferably together with the soundname of the audio file that it plays so I know which ID to use for each soundfile. Thanks in advance!
