I had this prob and i has asked NCSoft how to fix it .. they told me

 

Yeah actually we know for a fact it's a Windows XP64 issue. However, many of the XP 64 customers have been able to set XP 64 to 32 bit mode and that has allowed many of them to get the game to play, so you may want to try that option.

Maybe they mean you should install the 32-bit version of the windows?

If i'm not mistaken there is an option to set the 64-bit  to 32-bit but i don't know ofr sure how it's done...

But i can find it out form a friend of mine and solve your problem if nobody else doesn't know!!

you said you could ask a friend and tell you what the problem is...anyway im interested to...let me know if you get l2 to work at 64 bit mode
