Help Editing Server.

Hello, I am kinda new in this so would need some help.
 

I downloaded custom server pack+source. So I would like to know if someone can send any kind of guide or somethinng, how to edit the files in the source and implement it into the server.

For example in this pack when I log in the server the character gets auto pm from the server like.. welcome to server_name.., vote,  bla bla , bla bla.

So I want to change that.. I supose its EnterWorld.java in source files.. but I still dont get how to propely edit it and put it in the server.
