Help Itemname-E.dat & File Edit Problems

Everytime im about to add custom items i always hope that file edit wont show any errors on Itemname and Weapon&Armorgrp

 

Why does this happen? i even tried to take an existing line, change one number from its id for exampe if it is 2042 i make it 2043 add a different name and boom error. Always with itemname! What the hell!

(Also, i dont know if this works but, if you were to give me a weapon line and i was to change the id and the name, would it be the same?)

it could be caused by using a bad file editor but most likely it is human error. it doesnt matter what line you copy it from, it's the same format. just make sure it's not the chest piece of a armor set to avoid the 'set bonus' info

 

it's hard to tell just from pastebin but you should give the following info such as

1: chronicle

2: file edit you are using

3: did you touch any of the spacing

C6 Interlude, Im using this file edit http://postimg.org/image/e1v2xpx7p/which if i go to version it says 2a. and what do you mean if i touched any spacing? i didnt, i took those lines from the interweebz and just tried copy pasting them. heres the file edit error http://postimg.org/image/gxra9qo1z/ (<- copy paste this) which roughly translates to "Could not create file dec-itemname-e.dat"

Use this one, it's old and op :P When you edit make sure you did not removed any tab (space). The rows/table count must match and there must be an empty line at the end.

theres bug with that one which makes it not same sometimes. copy your entire itemname, close program, open again, paste all and save and it should work assuming your lines dont have errors in the first place

 

copy pre existing line and replace values to see if it works too (no reason that it shouldnt)
