How to hide my PC from wifi network

Hello.

Well, I used to use my neigbor's wifi for like 5 months. Then he banned my MAC address on my laptop and iPhone.

Today, I changed my MAC address and I can connect again, but now I wanna be safe. I mean I need to hide in some way my laptop from the devices which use the wifi.

 

I used this, but I'm not sure if it really works. Could someone confirm it? Or do you know any other way I could use?
