There is a program call HLSS which allows you to play music through CSS without using a microphone and everyone in the sever can hear your music

First of all you will need there following programs:

HLSS 3.0 -The main program used to play .wav files over the microphone in Steam.

dbpowerAMP - he program used for converting wav files correctly so they play clearly over the microphone. To learn how to use this program to convert wavs, see the converting wavs article. You must convert every wav as shown in this article in order for it to play correctly over the microphone.

Goldwave - The program used for reducing the bass and volume within a song. To learn how to use this program to reduce the bass and volume, see the Bass / Volume tutorial.

you can obtain them here: www.hlss.us - Downloads

To install it (this is the instuctions for CSS not 1.6 or CS however you can obtain them in the same site)

Note: before you go any further if you do not have counter-strike source and instead you have CS or 1.6 please use the other insturctions here: www.hlss.us - Setup HLSS

Step 1

- Navigate to the following folder on your computer: SteamApps\account-name\counter-strike source\cstrike\cfg. This is obviously not the full folder because it depends on where you installed Steam. Once you are in the correct folder, look for a file called autoexec.cfg. If you do NOT see it, download it by clicking here, and then place it in the folder mentioned above (in green), then skip to step 2 and ignore the rest of this step.

If you DO have it, add the following lines of text to the bottom of it (you can do this by opening the file in notepad):

alias hlss-START "voice_inputfromfile 1; voice_loopback 1; +voicerecord; alias ToggleWAV hlss-STOP"

alias hlss-STOP "voice_inputfromfile 0; voice_loopback 0; -voicerecord; alias ToggleWAV hlss-START"

alias ToggleWAV "hlss-START"

voice_fadeouttime 0

Now save and close the file.

Step 2

- If you don't have HLSS downloaded, you can get it from the Downloads section. Once you have HLSS, open it and go to File > Options. Now click the 'browse' button in the window that pops up, and locate the following folder: SteamApps\account-name\counter-strike source

This is your game directory folder. Once you have found it, click OK, and then OK again to close the options window.

Step 3

- Start up Counter-Strike: Source, and open your console (by tapping ~).

If your console does not open up when you press ~, you will have to enable it. You can do that by clicking Options on the main menu, then click the Keyboard tab, then click the Advanced button in the next window, and finally check the second box that says "Enable Developer Console (~)". Now click OK on all of the windows to close them. Now when you press ~, your console should open.

Step 4

- Type the following line in to the console, and hit enter:

bind del "ToggleWav"

This will make it so when you tap the Delete button, the wav will start playing, and when you tap it again while the wav is still playing, the wav will stop. So basically, Delete will be your Start/Stop button.

Step 5

- Now that you have setup HLSS for Counter-Strike: Source, you are going to need to add some .wav files to your HLSS playlist. It is VERY important that EVERY sound file is converted EXACTLY as shown in the converting wavs article before you attempt to add it to your playlist, or play it in the game. We will move on assuming you have some converted .wavs already. Be sure HLSS is open, and click the green plus on the program interface.

Step 6

- A window will pop up asking you to locate a .wav file to add. Find one, and then give it a shortcut key. This shortcut key is used to switch the song in game. It's important to remember that shortcut keys do not actually play the song, they just switch the song. Delete is your Start/Stop key.

Step 7

- The function keys (F1 - F12) are common shortcut keys people use in HLSS because they are not bound to anything in most Steam games (by default). You can use any key you want though as long as it's not bound to anything else.

Step 8

- Now before you can go into a game and start playing your sounds, you need to activate HLSS. To activate it, click the thumbs up button . If you wish to add more wavs later on, or change any HLSS settings, you must first deactivate HLSS by clicking the thumbs down button .

Step 9

- Now just start up your game so we can go test HLSS. If it was already open, you may want to restart the game real fast to ensure the HLSS script (autoexec.cfg) loads itself.

Step 10

- Once you are in the game, and actually playing at a server, press the shortcut key to one of your wavs. In the picture below, you can see after you press the shortcut key a little black bar appears that shows the wav's full file location (this black bar will only show up in Source games for a split second). This means that this .wav file is ready to be played. The black bar is also helpful because you can tell which .wav file is assigned to a certain shortcut.

Step 11

- If you set up everything correctly, you should be able to tap 'Delete' and hear your sound playing!

    • First, you need to understand what you're doing and what you want to achieve. You have to choose a server core. After that, decide what you want your server to include, code it, modify the client to fit your server, go public, and drink champagne.   If you know how to code, creating a server is relatively easy — a few months of work and you can make it happen. Modifying the client is a completely different story. There’s a lack of tutorials, tools, and source materials. I’m currently working on the client myself, and I’ve already spent over three weeks just trying to get started due to the lack of information. If you don’t have the knowledge and experience, you’ll need a team and a bag of money — but realistically, it just won’t succeed.
    • The server has been online and stable for over 2 months now, and we’re still going strong! No wipes, no shortcuts ~ just continuous work, daily fixes, events, and improvements to ensure the best possible experience.   Great News! 🔥 CHAPTER II IS COMING — GRACIA FINAL 🔥 On February 16, L2Elixir enters a new era. The server will be officially updated to Gracia Final, opening Chapter II of our journey. Expect new content, improvements, and surprises that will refresh the gameplay while keeping the classic Gracia Final spirit alive.   More challenges, more competition, and more reasons to log in.   📅 Update Date: February 16 ⚔️ Chapter II: Gracia Final This is not a reset. • Hello! We are Genesis, small team that works on new Lineage 2 project. Our goal with this project is to create a fresh new place to play — built around real community feedback, with no aggressive pay-to-win donations and with carefully thought-out quality-of-life improvements, balance changes etc. We believe that even tho we all love this game, everyone has at least one or two things they would like to change in the game to make it more enjoyable. Thats why we want the comunity feedback to shape our server. Main information about the server: • Interlude Classic version • Rates: EXP x4 SP x2 Loot x2, Spoil x2 (not set in stone, might be changed) • Local & Server-Side Dualbox Protection • Complete, Clear Website with Integrated Account Panel (Game account creation, direct communication with support, bug reporting, voting and reward system) • Launcher – External Game Login System: manage all your accounts inside the launcher, “Play” button logs you directly into the game server Here are list of few changes we already added/decided to add to the server: • Reworked Client to fit interlude Era with upgraded Classic Ui • Custom Antibot system • Custom AntiDualBox System • Offline shops • Offline shop with buffs (available only in towns) • Mass Sweeper added to the game • Newbie buffs available all the way to lvl 76 (nothing crazy, but its free) • Slight balance change to Destroyer damage with Polearm and Cancel spell from SPS • PvP zones on every Epic spawn spot • Overbuffing blocked • And more! Since we put big focus on community feedback and suggestions, we are looking for people for our internal tests, that will discuss whether current changes „fit” into the game and maybe suggest some changes themselves. If what you’ve just read sounds interesting to you, if you want to help creating server fitted for you, join our server Discord. Help us to understand what Lineage 2 players in 2026 actually expect and need — so we can meet those expectations and avoid becoming just another server that dies a natural death.     Even if you’re not interested in playing right now, but you are a long-time Lineage 2 player, feel free to join our community. We would greatly appreciate your experience and feedback to help us improve and develop our project.
