spoonypirate Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 Hi, I have been racking my brain trying to get a modified version of npcname-e.dat working with my CT1 client. Hopefully someone here will be able to assist me. First I tried patching the entire system folder with l2encdec. Worked aside from the l2.exe since l2encdec is having issues with CT1's l2.exe. So after grabbing l2Dat_EncDec I was able to modify the npcname-e.dat to my liking (mainly changing certain mobs' names colors, as well as the good ol' treasure chest addition). I double and triple checked to ensure I didn't delete any additional information (such as lines or tabs), and re-encrypted the file. When attempting to run Lineage II from either l2.exe or loaderCT1.exe, I'd receive an error that states 2008.5.1 02:14:37 OS : Windows XP 5.1 (Build: 2600) CPU : GenuineIntel PentiumPro-class processor @ 2402 MHz with 2046MB RAM Video : NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX (6921) PosCode : 0:0:0 4/0 General protection fault! History: FL2GameData::NpcNameDataLoad <- FL2GameData::Load <- UGameEngine::Init <- InitEngine And when I would replace the modified npcname-e.dat with the un-modified one, the game would load perfectly. Any ideas?
spoonypirate Posted May 3, 2008 Author Posted May 3, 2008 I haven't heard of that program. I'll do a google search for it and see how that goes.
