Looking for professional l2j dev.

Question

Posted

G'day!

I'm looking for a l2j dev for a serious server project.

Gameplay will be discussed in a private chat, although the chronicle will be Interlude.

I will be the one that stands for all the costs, and the payment will also be discussed in a private conversation.

This isn't the first time I've administrated a server, 2 years ago, wont mention the servers name, I hosted a L2 server, because of my ideas and my teamwork we got around 1k euros every 2nd week, not bad.

What I'm looking for in a developer is:

*Great knowledge in java coding.. If you think you're a dev just because you can do some custom armors and edit config.properties, then get lost.

*You have to speak GOOD English, I do not want someone that I can't communicate with!

*Team player, that's almost my #1 rule, without working as a team, the server will be dead before it opens.

*Active, if you're offline 99% of the week, then there's no possibility for us to grow.

Note: You will not have access to the server machine. Perhaps in the future.

If you're interested, send me a pm, and I'll provide you with my msn adress.

I think theres a seperate forum for this stuff, but I'm not really sure. Also, what excatly does your project entail that you need a 'professional' for? A project outline or something would be nice to see for people who are potentionally interested. So if you have some documentation about lets say how will this project be different from others, what is the goal, how are is the money going to be kept in order, how many milestones are there, and what is the time frame for each milestone.

Yo scrubs ,im trying to make a top server without java skills ,alone ,trying to fix everything with the lil of knowledge i have about java ,just 1 question ,do you really try? xD (i know ,it doesn't concern me about what you do but i always see copy/paste servers with good developers that all they do is to fix things ,not make a design or care about ppls)

Do I really try what?!

I've got basic knowledge of l2j. How ever that doesn't cut it if you want to make a really good server.

That's why I want to make sure I have the team I need to make it succeed.

I've got great knowledge in how to be an owner, how to manage a server, how to keep a server fresh with new improvements/fun systems for the players. The only thing I lack is the knowledge of the java coding.

The main reason why I want a good dev is for the server to not be a "copy/paste" server.

My goals are set, although as you said it's none of your concerns (I'm not trying to be a douche, but I do not want to hand out too much information/promises in public before I know for 100% that I will create a server, that will have the chance to become big).

Perhaps you've missunderstood me, I'm not talking about making a new source/fork.

Just a server.

I understand that, but still what's your plan? Or is it just start developing and go with the flow? I'm just interested in knowing what your plans are. What do you want to implement, what do you want to change? How is your server going to be different than other servers?

You must have some kind of documentation about what you want to do.

Of course I have.

But as I mentioned, that will be mentioned in a private conversation.

Don't wanna give all my good features for everyone to snatch

As long as your features are fresh, interesting and well thought, chronicle doesn't matter ;) you'll see

You do know that at least more than 50% of the browsers here can't even figure how to open ports, right? I don't think you'd have to worry about your ideas being stolen.

yeah, I know that most users here has an IQ below minimum, but I'd rather be on the safe side than regret it later.

My brain works in mysterious ways.

what dpbBryan want to say is that nearly all good dev are busy with thir own projects, so you will meet some wannabe kids.

And if you say for example : "Remake all the clan system" im sure that you will be able to make a minimum limit of skills

Perhaps you misunderstood the term 'professional' and you did not read the requirements...

    • Thank you for your feedback, SkyLord — even the negative kind.   Let me give you some context on who we actually are, since you asked. L2Scripts has been around for nearly 20 years. Over that time, we've worked with a large number of developers — I've personally seen probably half of every serious (and not-so-serious) developer in this scene. The most significant figure in our studio's history was Bonux. Together with a small team of assistants, he was essentially the backbone of our old codebase, and we were the ones who brought virtually every chronicle to the community — Essence, Classic, Main — all of it came through us.   Back then, we worked at scale. That era is over. Today, L2Scripts is no longer a studio in the traditional sense. It's more of a developer collective. I work alongside the best developers I've encountered in 20 years. Bonux is still with us on Classic. A new developer named Den has joined — in just 3 years he became one of the top Essence developers in the world. Every one of us works independently, but we're united by long-standing friendships and shared projects.   We no longer chase every chronicle or every client. For the past several years, we've been focused exclusively on specific long-term projects where we're paid a proper salary — and when you focus like that, with 20 years of experience behind you, the quality of what you produce is on a completely different level. Our code is currently running on nearly all top Essence and Classic servers. We're now bringing Main (Last Protocol) up to that same standard.   You mentioned Nexvil. Yes, he worked with us. That was a difficult period — the lead developer at the time was not up to the standard we hold ourselves to. It was a short period, and it's long behind us.   As for the prices — I'd ask you not to judge a product by whether you personally can afford it. That's not a fair measure of value. The people running top-tier servers understand what they're paying for. If our pricing doesn't fit your budget, that's completely fine — but downvoting a service simply because it feels expensive to you doesn't reflect well, and it certainly doesn't make the product worse.   A special thank you to eMommy and Zenith for the honest and fair words — it genuinely means a lot. It's good to know there are people in this community who judge things as they are.
    • Just because someone does professional sales doesn’t mean everything is overpriced. If the products he provides are stable and good quality, then I see nothing wrong with it, and those prices aren’t even bad. Remember, we’re living in 2026, not 10 years in the past. Your mindset is probably stuck on buying the cheapest products because maybe you can’t afford better ones. And of course, there’s always someone who likes blaming others. I think you should mind your own business instead of blaming someone for how they run theirs. If you really think his prices are too expensive, then do better than him.
    • I have to be fair here and state that almost all 'good' servers on Essence/Classic are using bonux/l2scripts files and 10k for a decent essence build imo is not that bad of a price as long as nexvil is not touching these files
    • LF who can make systemchat, autoenchant, autologin and few little fix on 306 for me, pay $$$
    • Implemented ingame drop database, craft database, shop database, best farm for desired item
