I have a theory...

Anonymous is a well known and real(maybe) group. Many people got faith on them that they will bring a kind of peace by pirating the internet. "FB hack" was a propaganda that has nothing to do with the real group, so people took it as a promise or a goal that the group must achieve to prove their skills and their temperament.

The goal of this propaganda is to loose your faith on them simply because nothing happened on the facebook.
