Hello. When I open Microsoft sql servers management studio and press on New query i choose for server type: database engine, then on server name: localhost and on anthetication i add windows anthetication, then I click the connect button and i get the following error:

How can i fix it?

Maybe database engine service is stopped.

i stopped the remote connection and i started it again but nothing..

enable named pipes, just like the error tells you.

i have already enable the pipes..

well .. when you installed msql maybe you didnt enabled or allowed remote connection?

 

reinstall and enable from the start.?

 

I have already reinstall the database and I saw that there was an error with asp.net. Is that the problem? If yes how can i solve it. I searched a bit but i didn't find any way to solve this thing. And someting else, when i open cmd and type net start mssqlserver it gives an error: "System Error 1060 has occurred. The specified service does not exist as an installed service" Does it means that mssql is not installed correctly?

first of all , you have to uninstall all current configures and files of, navicat or mysql server, then clean the ports you was using for sql, and just reinstall all sql files from the very begining :) i hope of helping you,

I ain't use both navicat and mysql, i use microsoft sql server 2005 and mssql...
