[Contest-Guide]How to solve the 5899 error ?

The error 5899 appears on some versions of cs in the moment when you want to turn it on . More versions of the same error:

 

Error 5899: Metadata file missing or damaged

Counter strike fatal error 5899

Error 5899: Metadata file missing or damaged [-1]!

 

How to solve it :

 

1. Download a clean version of Counter Strike Online and extract it in the same folder where you have and hlds.exe or cstrike.exe or hl.exe !

 

If this still dosnt works ,follow this steps :

 

2. Right click on cstrike.exe and select Properties and, than select compatibility and change it in winx. This should solve the problem but if still you have the same error follow the next step:

 

3. In parameters of launch put the line “-autoconfig -32bit -sw -noipx -d3d” - this will reset the old resolution to normal and the problem of the error 5899 from Counter-Strike.
