Oh jezzus, what does creating a server in the modern days mean ? coding bit by bit to create a extender ?

That is for people wihtout private/personal life.

Everyone is doing the same, buying done extender with a license and modding the files accordingly for the servers needs. "few files meaning a shit load of files"

To make a server you need files, an extender that is known of who created them, not me, i never said that you daft cunt, prior to make a server you have to MOD those files according of what you want in the server.

That is what i did, not you nor anyone else for Segue World. Plus it was only ONE server called Segue World and it went live only ONE time, done by myself.

Blackhive you are the true definition of an asshole anyhow comments aside you sell packs of servers that dont run anymore and if anyone knows server owners its most likely me. When a server fails for whatever reason the pack is sold to get more money out of it to buy another pack mostly based russian sources or leaks. So you also could be a liar here.

Just saw this ACP by demort. Looks good enough, moreover as .elfocrash mentioned account has to be in some kind of maintenance in order to make changes through the panel (didnt think of it). If this guy has this issue solved, he is the winner.

 

 

I didnt really know what to add, thats why I asked for your suggestions. It couldnt be that hard for me to develop a ticket or donation system. Regarding the startup servers, its not their fault. To be honest, I started my server using a compiled rev of L2jEqual (dont really remember the name, correct me if Im wrong) when I was 13. I selected  a few spots, created farm zones, added some items to the client and I added my server on HopZone. The first time it got rejected due to downtime, then I found a friend and he hosted my server on his computer. I was lucky enough and I got 50 players/hour online and a top of 150 players online.

 

Had no idea of programming, and after some time I realised that replacing NPC and making changes in-game doesnt really fix the bugs, and thats when I quitted because I couldnt support it anymore without programming. You shouldnt be able to start a server with a pre-compiled pack.

 

 

Listen mate, in my opinion, it is not that bad to work something for free once in a while. Indeed, it may be time consuming or it doesnt really worth the effort, but if I didnt have anything else to do, I would give it a shot. If you dont mind answering, which API did you use and what language are you using? PHP? 

I understand that and its good you did realize that. To tell you the honest to god truth because of the reasons i said before i see no use for such a tool maybe a mimic of the ingame admin panel but thats way too much work for little gains.

How you mean? I may be mistaken but I was searching in the forums to see if a Control Panel exist and all I found was just a few guys selling their web development services. Didn't notice any open source product at all.

Because you only mentioned useless stuff like account activiton/creation. Besides that an l2 control panel would further increase the plug and play mentality which was always the downfall of l2j.

This may be harsh but 90% of the people who open servers should never even try to begin with. It is so easy i can teach it to my 6y old nephew easily in a week how to run a server it is so easy with all the available tools.

Do you know what causes it?It matters that i've changed the id?I mean from "300300" i made it "100100"

It means your noblesse and buffer npc doesnt exist on the location that is given in the scripts.cfg. You either dont have it there or the path in the cfg is wrong.

When I say performance I mean the best you can achieve in the language you are programming, not generally.

 

What I wanted to say in simple words is that the logic 'if it works it's fine' is not acceptable in all cases, the code you produce should be re-usable, extendable (if it can be) and easy to understand it's structure and it's purpose.

 

About aCis, tbh the only difference the player's can see as you said xdem are mostly bug/exploit fixes, nothing more. L2j interlude branch has pretty much the same gameplay except for some missing things and exploit/bug fixes. Tryskell did in fact begin working on aCis by syncing with latest l2j, and he even said he's gonna be doing that, but aCis moved on from that, at least from what I can see. Many developers joined as inner circle members and they started to produce their own code apart from l2j. Tryskell even stopped making fixes on systems he copied from latest l2j (namely skills), as they will be making new engines to replace the existing ones.

I'm not an aCis fanboi or something, but aCis if worked properly can produce a stable and clean pack to open a server.

When they stopped syncing from l2j they started syncing from russia. They never made their truly own code. :)

Thing is they copied stuff that should never have been put together to begin with. :)

Its not about beauty. Its about implementing things that help readability, standarize and helps to make things modular in a way. This is a huge failure of l2j.

No not at all. He screwed it up from the get go. Nothing in acis is self made and follows a plan. Everything in there is synched or pointless.

there are no perfect codes if you have to solve complex problems. there will always be mixture of all possible ways just to get an overall fitting solution.

you have to set goals and reach them with a minimal input. otherwise you wont come to an end. the ongoing development of existing programming language will always create better ways to solve a problem.

why bothering in reviving a dead project. better build up a new cooperational project between acis and frozen or just joining the acis dev team rather than have this senseless redundancy.

 

i mean how old is this game already? and how often did projects come and projects gone? you are just running in circles meaning that there is no actual improvement since 8 years of interlude. everything that an actual player can do now was possible 8 years ago...

Both projects failed hard, im not saying starting from scratch but starting from base l2j and fixing from there is what should happen based on a fix list without fcking around with useless stuff and moving from 1 goal to the next.

acis doesnt mean success. If you were shit when you opened a server with frozen then you'd be shit opening wth acis.

Exactly that not to mention even tho acis had so many years of development behind it if you count in the work that everyone else done for them and they only had to sync it, its a joke that its still not even 60% complete.

My opinion about aCis is the best L2j pack for guys who want do a nice server with more than 1 week live like frozen packs 1 week and dead :)

You do realize that the name of the pack doesnt have an effect on longevity right? The fact is people who used acis have closed their servers also as soon or shortly after someone who used frozen. It all comes down to quality and when it comes to that acis is on the same level where frozen is.

Still the exact same project and unless they realize what the priorities are they will end up with staying the same mediocre team like they were.
